Just a quick question for everyone. I am looking at putting up a POS in a 0.5 system with out a station in it, so that I can mine and hual the ore back to the POS. Will I be able to take the ore from the POS and haul it with my freighter?

No you cannot. And tbh that is a waste. Just jump the 1 jump not that far out.

Transports with T2 expanders and rigs
around 40k m3 using cans
and NO frieghters can't pick up at a pos they require massive machinery to load and unload... only available at a Station which a POS is not anywhere close to a station.
who would need stations if they were?

1)Transport (Occator) can carry 45.408m3 (using T2 expanders + T1 rigs + cans)...
2) Freighters apparently can haul things to (maybe even from) a POS using general freight containers.

Just checked it.
Apparently you can put things from a Frieght container from your Freighter TO your POS Hanger.. but not back.
Well at least its 50% good news :)

a specialized POS structure for freighter docking with high fitting reqs might be a nice idea. high enough youd only put it at 1 pos per system at most.
remember...there are alot of barren NPC regions where you cannot build outposts. plus some help building outposts would be nice as well.

But isn't it kind of stupid to drop off at a pos? I mean the Carriers can do that with out haveing to risk much. I mean the carriers already bring the Non-Ice fuels from empire to 0.0 anyways. Who is going to take a freighter 20+ jumps going threw 0.0 when carrier is faster? And the ice fuel itself.. well if you are bringing ice fuel from empire to 0.0 you are working harder and not smarter.
My Wish was that we could unload ore from the Corp Hanger Array to the freighter and use the freighter to take Bulk ore to the outpost to be refined..Unless they make Freighters with jump drives then honestly people will continue to use fast safer means such as the carrier's to make fuel supply runs from empire to 0.0 ..
But Atleast C.C.P. is trying I can't and wont knock them for that

try refining at the pos. it will cost you some minerals but it will decrease your haulingtime a LOT!

No flame .. but you forget to realize that not every POS is in 0.0
For example my own POSSES are in 0.5+ empire space.
There is no way in *bliep* that you can take a carrier there.
And also not everyone is able to fly carriers.
Gimme 45 more days tho :)

That would be nice. We tested yesterday (Friday the 30th) and could not take from the POS with the most recent patch.
Anyone try testing today, Saturday?
