Every time I open the launcher its screen turns pure white and has no features.
I am completely unable to login and have been for days. There is no information available in the launcher window.
I have tried all the routine ways of circumventing the problem, Admin, restart, original EvE launcher, ETC.
Nothing works. |

Having same issue so are others.
The patch broke the launcher hardly the first time that has happened.
Hopefully this gets fixed by tuesdays patch. |

Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem. Just an all white launcher with no way to enter your name or passwords so no way to get into the game. It was working on the 27th and quit working for me on the 28th.

Same white Screen no longer able to log in to any of my paid accounts.
tried some older launchers from

yeh pretty much can't log in.
Running as usual under windows 10, but the old launcher under XP is just a white screen.
Put a support ticket in days ago, no answer as of yet. Anyone get anywhere with this issue?

Well, I was having the same issue, deleted and re installed, and it still whitescreened again, tried it again just now, and however now it no longer white screens, it just doesn't have where I put in the account name and password.

Can you just stop screwing around and bring back the eveexe.exe file loggin again? I would like to play eve with my friends please.

soo.. i have a extremely similiar problem. same issue except black screen.
steps taken to resolve issue:
reinstall eve. (done) reinstall vcard drivers. (done, newest nvidia drivers, with and without telemetry disabled) navigating to C:\EVE\SharedCache\tq and running rescache.exe @ admin priv (done) setting environmental variable 'QT_OPENGL' to 'desktop' (done) renaming opengl32sw.dll to opengl32sw.dll.BACKUP (effectively deleting it) (done) scan for malware/viruses (done) chkdsk c: /f /r for any disk issues (done) windows updates (done) scanning event log for anything hinky (done, no weird critical errors, just the usual smorgasborg) (done)

Is it freezing on you with a "No response" too? I got the white screen with that going on.

Well the launcher is frozen with no features, no features completely black. I am able to close the program down, and when i right click the eve context button, it brings up things like network diagnostics successfully. |

I have the same problem which started today. I get a white screen on the launcher with text that says "Checking GUI version". I have the latest Windows 10. I have the latest Nvidia drivers. I tried to trouble shoot the launcher, no dice. I tried to download a fresh launcher, but the Eve online download site is not working right now? Nothing happens when I click download, but I can access the rest of the internet with no issue.

how do you uninstall only the launcher and reinstall without nuking 5gb of data files?
Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

I was able to fix it for myself. Hopefully this works for the rest of you!
Problem: Launcher had a white screen with text saying "Checking GUI version". Couldn't access any sites using eveonline.com domain.
Solution: Open a command prompt window as administrator (will have to right click on icon and select "Run as Administrator" in drop down menu) and type the following commands: ipconfig /flushdns netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ip reset reset.log
Then reboot computer.
If that still did not fix the issue then go to your adapter settings (under network and sharing center) select the lan adapter you use, go into properties, and under IPv4 settings manually set your computer to use the 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 dns servers (leave the IP address portion above that on Auto if you did not already deliberatly setup a static IP).
Power down / unplug internet router, then power back up.
The network should be reset and access to Eve Online and all websites restored. |

Alright I finally found a solution although i haven't the slightest clue why it works. After eliminating everything on my rig that said eve or ccp, reinstalling multiple times, making sure the registry was cleared of any old entries and messing with all sorts of network settings and failing I finally tried installing through steam and it works. Possibly a different launcher version but i didn't look as i'm sick of working on this and all i care about is that it works lol... |

The issue remains the same "Couldn't get GUI version info and Proxy connection refused". Until I got this prompt on the second attempt to login as below:
Now getting "Couldn't get GUI version info Network access is disabled."
Not happy, second day, of this nonsense and no fix from support, but try this and that, and none worked. I haven't changed anything on my side,it's yours, by the way I have 2x paying accounts. |

I can ping eveonline.com from cmd line, successfully. but still the same foe. "Couldn't get GUI version info and Proxy connection refused" again, even run it as Administrator. (My user has admin privs too)
I have checked my "Windows Firewall" and CCP ExeFile is allowed program, and ports to communicate through my FW. Attached screen shots for your perusal.
I have dug deep to the the C:\\EVE\SharedCache\tq\bin\exefile and this launches the old launcher, and I now get the following below:
Server: Tranquility Unable to connect to tranquility.servers.eveonline.com on port 26000
Look forward to CCP fixing it, as I haven't made any systems/applications changes on my side. In a recent update to the launcher it started obeying your system settings for proxies - there is a setting in the settings dialog accessible from the E menu (Use system configuration for proxy) - try disabling that, see if it helps.

If I do click on it I get a standard application isn't responding with options of close or wait - waiting does nothing, closing closes it.
The only way round it is to reinstall the launcher. If I do this and point it at the old shared cache everything works (i.e. all my settings are preserved) if (and this is a massive if) I choose cancel when it prompts to restart the launcher because there is a new update.
If I choose to update then it breaks again.
The next time I start the launcher its broken (has it upgraded anyway when it shut down?) and I have to install it yet again.

Using the google DNS for my router's connection seems to have fixed things for me. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. I had no issues until today. I found other people on my internet provider who also had the issue, so it's definitely regional or carrier based DNS issue. |

Here are the results of what i've done so far: - complete reinstall -> worked from last update until today - starting the launcher as admin -> did not help - Launcher settings "Use system configuration for proxy" disabled -> did not help - Switching between various versions and languages in the lancher -> did not help, too - changing the dns-server to "8.8.8.8" & "8.8.4.4" in the network settings -> my internet connection works - launcher produces still the white screen - rebooting the pc several times and restarting the lancher did also not help - ipconfig /flushdns didn't help either
Need help - i'm paying for a service i cannot use

Launcher was working before downtime, downtime came and went, now I have the white launcher screen with:
"This webpage is not available
ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED"
I mean, what confuses me is the launcher's been working fine for me for a week or so, then today, literally 2 hours after I used the launcher fine, it crapped out, so I'm more confused than anything right now.
Edit: I literally, 10 seconds after posting this, found a work-around for the mean time by just using the server list tab to launch the client, then logging in on the old log in screen. |

Like the previous post, I played Eve in the morning (play on a late 2012 iMac), went and did things during the day, and came back to:
"This webpage is not available" - ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED
I have two Mac Minis that the launcher works on, but on my main machine, it's borked. I've basically gone through all the suggestions in this thread and other threads on the ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED error, to no avail.
