just aint the same anymore... its simply to easy to escape.. this goes for all.. and no i do have skiills... prolly more than you so stfu.. and beet a 60 mill sp caracter lol...
i lock fast. i use the right modules.. still people can get away to easy. myself included when i am hunted.. its fun to pvp. why ruin it like they did. its fun to kill but also fun to die.. so ummm what about making a duel ring where u at all time can enter and duel for isk ? or the oponents ship and modules ==?== would be a funneh idea.. then also some could be KING OF THE HILL.. and the more fights he won the higer bounty there would be on him.. ccp... make pvp fun...

Lets see scramble, and web.... who gets away from that? I mean stabs have been nerfed so bad noone can effectively fight with one equipped.

Though your presentation is kind of assinine, I like the idea, tbh.
I brought this up a while back in my n00bness and got the sh*t flamed out of me by fanboys, but the concept seems sound.
If there was an Arena System or Station or whatever(a Solaris type place, from the Mechwarrior series) I would be fighting there ALL the time.
An ability to bet on people for iskies would be amusing as well.
Hell, it could spawn all kinds of mini professions, can we say Bookie? Fixed fights? All sorts of possibilities.
Doubt CCP would ever go for it though, as its the horrible and nasty C word: Consentual.

It sounds like a great idea, but factoring in most people gained all their experience from losing ships and such, which makes experience in eve worth a lot, CCP might be loathe to introduce sparring (that never resulted in your ship exploding) that would let lose a heap of very well trained newbs :P
I would love such a feature anyhow, and my char wont be on Singularity mirror for aaages probably.

what is wrong with player organized competitions
1. devise a system of tracking and recording the bets and designate a person to whom all the money will go to on location.
2. devise a tournament system, make some rules etc.
3. hire a goon squad to protect the event
4. spread the word
5. hope everything goes peachy
why do we need to have the CCP implement anything again?

You could ask that same question about any other aspect of EVE too. Going with that mentality, why add ANY content whatsoever?
Anytime anyone suggests anything REMOTELY like a duel, or "fair", or Arena, people get their hackles up, I assume because theres no gank invovled.
Doesnt matter, I am not gonna try and argue the point again, doubt it will ever happen.

I get the feeling your play style consists mostly of cate camping in low sec, right?
Of course if thats all you do I would think it would be a little bit boring anyway, let alone with all the changes. And if you wasted most of your time in eve generating those 60 mil sp for the sole purpose of gate camping waiting for haulers I am tempted to feel sorry for you. But I can't.
You would be better buying a fishing simulator.

I always assumed it's because a lot of peeps just can't be bothered to solve any problems they come up against.

some things are more easily organized (small tournament) vs world(space) wide policing system (Concord)
or the Escrow system, since we are not allowed to create networks IN-game, altho if we were allowed to create programs in-game alot of programers would jump on it... but then it would just be a hackfest.

there are things that can be organized by players and there are things that can't ...
former can be implemented without any action by CCP, later can be only implemented by CCP.
PvP tournaments, delivery services (UPS like), escorts/low-sec CONCORD(!), mining/hauling services are all from the first category.
request like "CCP implement an PvP arena", "CCP implement some NPC escort to safe me from pirates", "CCP implement some hauling service so that i can mine solo" pop up regularly on this forum. the PvP arena is the most common of these requests .. the others are more sporadic.
are these good ideas? imho not.

in WoW the arena system is designed for level 70 characters (ie, maximum level)
it comes in a 2on2, 3on3 and a 5on5 format. (no duels)
there is nothing wrong with it, except that simply some team combinations are more powerful than others.
the only edge one team might have over another is item maximization, since long grinding hours = better equipment.
but i dont see this a problem in EVE since almost any equipment is accessable by anyone, and if you're backed by a Corp and wish to participate in a tournament i see no problem there either.

There did use to be a solaris fighting arena, one of the DJs from Eve-Radio did it, DJ Moz.
I went to a few of the events and he started with frig battles, and while they would fight he would be commenting during his show.
It was held in an 0.0 system and yes he had a few people running defence, though it did still lure in a couple of pirates who were dealt with.
From memory it was DJ Moz and his wife/girl friend whos character I can't quiet remember Vitori or something like that. Hehe he often put her on the spot during his shows.
Anyway as far as I know DJ Moz doesn't play anymore or at least i haven't seen him or any of his characters around if anybody knows better ........?
