Hey, Anyone got any ideas about this problem i'm having. I play eve for an hour then i lose connection, log back on and get exactly an hours play then i lose connection again. I've had to start timing it so i'm not fighting when it happens or have expensive drones out as i warp away and lose them.
I don't have this issue with any other online game i play, only EVE.
Also I gave Vista a try and it had the same issue and that was a clean install on a new harddrive.
Thanks

god knows, I play loads of games too and eve is the only one that acts odd, CTD's, perma-lags etc.
There's a slew of things in the support forum buy tbh it's not my job to make sure the games I buy work
you might have a driver issue though, they seem kinda popular. If it's hourly you might have a router issue or something?

Hi Passcal,
Try having a look in This Forum and see if you find anything useful in there.
Ultimately, you could contact customer support (see the link in my Signature).
Kind regards,

Do you have a router?
It may be possible your computer recieves a new lease each hour from the router which disrupts eve functioning. You should go to the routers configuration page (you can reach that by typeing in the ip of the router itself in a browser window). Change lease to a larger number (or set to 0 as that stands for infinite leases on some routers).
How to find your your routers ip? click start, then click "run", this will open a new window. Type cmd in the prompt and click ok, you will now be presented with a black screen with some textlines and a cursor. Type ipconfig and press enter, look in the output for the line "default gateway: X.X.X.X". Open a new browser screen and type that ip in the addressbar (example 10.0.0.1). You will probably get a prompt for a username and password. Given your router has never been changed (and you never set a new password for it) try the following combinations for username and password:
Username - Password admin - admin
If this doesn't work then look in the routers manual for the configuration password. After succesfully accessing your routers internal configuration page (if it has one) you will have an webpage from where you can configure individual options inside your router. Because these pages vary per router you should keep your manual closeby incase you have trouble finding what you are looking for. What you will need to find is the configuration page with "default lease time, Lease, IP lease" or something similar on it. Check the number that is there (often 0 is indefinate). Incase it has a number different then 0 check how many seconds, minutes or hours each entry represents and try to fill in the biggest accepted possibility here.

i can leave on forever, it only disconnects when the server goes down for maintenance...
Find your router manual, press reset on the box, look up the default ip in the manual, set your ip to that ip range, access the router with a browser, set it straight :)

I get constant lost connections as well... and I know my problem is not a router problem. It started happening immediately after this last patch. I was golden before that. A fellow corp member has the exact same problem.
It's not every hour for me though.

This would happen to me all the time when I had DSL. I switched to cable and it all works good now.

I to have a hourly CTD problem...but only when I'm at home on my DSL. From what my IP tells me. It's a sync issue. Comp<->modem<->internet All I do is reboot my comp and it resyncs the system and all is good. I've changed everything, net card, modem and even a cat-6 cable.
