If you would tell us what systems you are planning your fight in as well as what other systems are on that node i will be happy to try and avoid the areas so that you can have a "reduced lag" fight.

Apparently you are unaware that this is a nodal game, and people on seperate nodes don't affect people on other nodes?
There are going to be so many people in that system it's just going to crash over and over again.

Lag will be you say ? Ok i go fill my freighter with shuttles, many shuttles till the 800.000 mŠ are full. And will fly there, so that people who lose their ships have a shuttle to travel back  . I hope noone pops my freighter

To the OP, I believe if you get in touch with CCP and let them know of an impending large fleet battle, they may be able to give you your own node. I have a feeling they can only swap node loading around at DT though, so it may be too late for tonight.

To the Op: It doesn't matter how many mission runners, stationsitters, empire dwellers are there. The system(s) in questions are on their own reinforced nodes now, same as the L1V1 system was. The EVE cluster design doesn't allow to assign multiple nodes to one grid, so if the capacity of the node is exhausted then the whole universe could be empty and all all other nodes running idle, it wouldn't help.
The lag in huge fleet battles has not much to do with the lack of hardware but with the system design and algorithms.

LOOK TO THE LEFT OF YOUR "A" KEY. THIS IS CALLED CAPS LOCK. LOOK WHAT HAPPENS when I press it. Now isnt that nicer.
Also - if you want lag free fights stop making gangs with 300 people in them. Alliances all say "All we want is a fight". Well you KNOW that the server cannot handle 200-300 man + fights so stop sending that many pilots. That is all.

I think what the OP is *trying* to say, is Dear CCP, please re-distribute all the nodes in empire space to power tonights warzone. Put all of empire on a single node or, if you must, two. One for Jita, one for the rest.

Erm, no. It's blatantly obvious what the OP is saying. He's telling players when they should log out - which, might I add, he has no right to do - solely for the non-existant benefit of his lousy unnamed alliance.

That's not quite true. This game requires, by it's design, a single database (might be a clustered system but the point still applies). Agreed though, someone sitting in a station afk or chatting to their mates would have little effect on a remote node. Someone sitting in station perusing the market or contracts for good deals would be contributing to overall lag to some extent, as would mission runners.
BUT, I doubt these database performance effects would be that noticable to someone in the target system. What the OP is asking sounds sensible (if a little rudely put) on the surface but I don't think it will really provide much benefit.
