Hi, The AB I use in my Caracal increases my velocity from about 200m/s to 400m/s but the same AB in my Osprey goes from 180m/s to 205m/s. By looking at the stats for each ship, I can't figure out why that is. I thought I'd get the same max velocity from the AB no matter which ship it was in. Any thoughts as to why that is? Thanks, Monchar

Hi,
A 25M/S speed boost??
It seems that you have fitted something thats putting on the weight of your Osprey, please tell us what fittings are being applied etc.

I don't mean this to sound offensive in anyway but are you sure you haven't fitted a 1MN AB?

I was just about to reply the same thing, but the OP did state that he used the same AB, but then again do people fit wrong class size modules by accident? If so, I'm surprised he would'nt of noticed and thought "WTF?? How come this AB is only giving me small addition to PG usage compared to the 50MN+ a 10MN would give me??" .

He definitly fitted the 1mn AB, theres no other way to explain such a small boost. You must use 10mn's for cruiser class ships and the 100mn for battleship class or you will not get enough extra thrust to offset the mass. ------------------------------- C.D's Formula for success ------------------------------- Credit Card = Game Time Card Gametime Card = ISK Therefore Credit Card = ISK.

Easy mistake, and not uncommon
Mass affects the speed bonus, so either you have a lot of armor plates on that osprey, or the wrong sized afterburner. _____________________________________________

Thanks all, I thought about that too. So I pulled the AB off my Caracal and fit it to my Osprey with the same results, only a 25m/s increase. The Osprey is fitted for salvage/mining with: High: 2-MinerII 1-SalvagerI 1-heavy missle launcher Med: 1-cargo scanner 1-survey scanner 1-Cold gas I arcjet thruster
And that's all, nothing in my low slots. Any one have an idea on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks, Monchar

Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters is a Frigate class module.
Here's your Cruiser module : Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburner
As Chris said, if you use a Frigate class AB on a cruiser, you won't get enough power to offset the mass of your cruiser.
( Remember Industrial Ships are Cruiser class vessels )
Besides this, if you want to go even faster, there are 2 Navigation skills to help you on this :
- Navigation : +5% base speed / level. - Acceleration Control : +5% bonus to AB/MWD speed boost. _________________________________________
