I am just curious during the epic lagg battle, how many nodes did you have attached to the F-T system ???? What was some of the statics for that system during this battle engangement ??

The battle would have been alot more epic if that GM didnt cap the f-t local at 700.... heard there was about 400 more coalition trying to get into the system =/

Nice question... Who manage priority to node standing?

If that system got it's personal node, e.g. like the Jita node, then it's all they can do. Several nodes handling the same system is not possible currently. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

Usually there are dozens of systems on one node. Afaik when they 'enforce the node', the system get its own strong node with no other systems running on it and if that's not enough horsepower, then bad luck.
F-T had restriction on quantity ppl... Those who was in system had a priority, and those who try to go there not has loading in this system... u understand what i say?

I guess your plan to jump in capital ship fleet from another node, lag free, while defenders cant log in (like in JV1V) didnt work this time? Nice job CCP, preventing node crashes is the way to go unless you can provide more processing power to that specific node.

Yeah, because it's illogical to assume that the people in the attacking corps wanted to actually participate in the JV1V battle. We were all just there to crash the game. Not actually play it.

Judging from everything I have read, and my experience trying to get there, I'd guess that f-t had its own node (bravo ccp), but that the next three or so out were all on one node and were major lagzored. I guess its not really realistic to expect ccp to put every system for 5 jump radius on its own node. Or maybe the jumpin lag issues were from crossing nodes, I dont know. Pulling the arbitrary 700 out of the hat seems really bad, but I'd say after all the flack from jv1v noe rashes they thought keeping the node alive was the better option.
Just guessing at all that ofc. (well, except the part where the first time I jumped from 319 I got jumpqueued and killed and the second time I didnt load the next system until 45 minutes later at which point I was podkilled without overview or modules.)

Well, the original question was how many nodes attached to a system and there can only be one at best.
Yes, I understand what you say, but not gonna argue. The 'battle' and outcome would have been a joke, no matter, if there is a limit or if the node goes down for 6 hours. It was a joke in jv-something without a limit and it's a joke here.
The whole blob warfare for territory is a joke, because the server doesn't support it. The better alliance/coalition should win. Not a random winner that gets puked out by the server after big lag chaos.
PvP is about determining the one, who's best and let that one win. If that point gets lost, due to total chaos in a lag-hell, then were is the point in pvp ?
People are arguing so much, who has won. But the victory is pointless, because it wasn'T a victory for being better, but because the server rolled the dice for someone or some stupid 'Who is allowed to get first on the node' game-mechanics decides, who wins. Such a victory means nothing. If you win or lose territory by that, it's nothing to be proud of or to be ashamed of. It doesn't make you better or worse than the enemy.
*edit* uhm, should use the preview function more often. was gibberish. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

Edited by: Buddy King on 30/03/2007 04:42:44 If you are interested in how the clusters work, and the hardware involved, CCP did an interview with slashdot recently.
Here is the article
Sorry if it's a dupe, not sure if this was already posted elsewhere...
