1st off im recon spec'ed Pilot. I have recon 5 (Yeah) I started with a Minnie recon and i was fun, with due skills t2 arts/t2 hvy missles/t2 shiled stuff and what not.now i fly a pilgram and its kinda OMFG Solo pwnage. and its fun. I was thinking about the ROOK. the only weak skill i have is EW and i have that to 4, FM(Frequency Modulation) to 3,Long distance jamming 3. The question is should i take them higher b4 i get in to a ROOK? I'm sure most will say yes. And whats a good fit?
And plz don't flame me im not a noob just new to Jamming thats all.

Yes, a rook needs to have super long range ECM in my opinion. Make sure your ECM strength skill is up to 4 or 5 as well before you fly it. Make sure you have signal dispersion to at least 4 before you fly it though.
Once you do fly it, play around with the rigs. I'm not sure what the best combination is, but I'm sure ECM strength and optimal range will be useful.

Edited by: beor oranes on 30/03/2007 07:21:44 I'd agree with Franconis, get it higher before you fly and actually risk your ship. However, I would fly it before you do as if you are new to jamming you will need to get used to it and work out where your optimal (safe distance) is on different ships. Best way I have found is to practice on corp mates as with jamming you cant damage them.
As for rigs, you either need ECM strength rigs or ECM cap usage ones or just cap rigs as they eat through your cap.
As for fits, whatever really works for you. Have a play around, if you are running in a gang then you wont need tackling gear so you can have more ECM jammers, but if your looking to run more solo then tackling gear, ab, damp and then jammers to fill the rest of the slots. But thats just my opinion.

Do not rig the rook. It's cheap, expendable, (use T1 launchers) and should be used that way. You can fit it with all best named / T2 stuff for less then 25mil + ship, so about 75 total.
Highs: 5x HML 1, kinetic dmg, small nosf Mids: 7x assorted best named racials Lows: 2x T2 signal distortion amp.
Your purpose in a gang is to jam enemy recon ships and tacklers so the rest can get the job done easier - stay at 100km range at least. (with good skills your jammers should reach 150k optimal) Solo it's kind of crap..web/scram/mwd + 4x multispec might work though but its made of tinfoil still.
