Since the 1.2 upgrade and the introduction of spawn items it has become much more difficult on HARD setting. I have yet to complete the hard setting.

My moment of revelation was realising that the final upgrade for the Squirt Tower gives a 400% damage increase (+ range). Getting just one of those fellars in is practically a win-button on medium mode.
So, best tactic is to funnel both columns of creeps using Pellet Towers into a single kill-zone (dead centre, preferably, so it can catch the flying ones too) made up of 4 or so Squirt Towers, a Dart Tower, and maybe some Frost Towers. Then, just upgrade like crazy and don't worry about anything else.

Excellent, that worked brilliantly. It's just saving up til the 290 cash mark which is the hairy bit

Hours worth of work wasted!!! I finished the hard level with about 5150 points, only to accidentally press the "RESET" button right at the last level. They need to have a "are you sure you wanna quit" button pop up after you press reset. Back to the grind.

Bah, I'm having trouble getting past 2nd place in either Normal or Hard. Doing pretty well when it comes to lives though.

This game has made a significant dent in my average this term as I discovered it just as I should have been writing term papers.
But it's all worth it. 1st in the EvE group at both difficulties, both of them with records for most lives to boot.

This game is uber-easy for me because the whole thing is ripped directly from a Warcraft 3 map. The Tower Defense map style has been around since StarCraft though, and it's a bit displeasing to not see any credit to the original design. Right down to the fact that the enemies are called Creeps (the term in WC3 for NPC monsters) and the names of the towers, even the effects are the same! Maybe I didn't see it if it was noted. If anyone finds the credit given somewhere lemme know. Good game though, very well done.

5310 points.
My strategy to get to the end is to place 5 sniper towers and 4 typhoon towers in the middle, arranged in a 3x3 square. I then construct a twisty path towards it using pellet towers. I don't bother with the other tower types.
