11-12 GMT... right?
and since the clocks in the UK went forward, that's 12-1 BST right?...
so when I got up at 11:30 BST to change my skill, and the server was down, was I being a noob?

You need to check your clocks. I was logged in and playing at 11:30. I was logged in at 11:59. The servers went down as usuall at exactly 12:00.

I think they should coz when Sweden goes to summer time the DT ends up one hour after my lunch... and EVE being down actually made me go get something to eat... now I have to play during my lunch = hungry Chribba.

Me thinks the clock you used to check the time hadn't been reset for BST...I was playing just fine at 11:30

The server goes down at 12PM GMT due to the time changes... So although it still says 11, it's actually 12PM.
I went on to play at 12 or so and realised it yesterday :P and I did it again today... Pfft.

I live in England, United Kingdom and Downt time for me is 12-1 GMT its just that CCP doesn't use the correct GMT (daylight saving and all ).
So in answer to your question, I don't know you tell me, how hard can it be ?

GMT is not equal to the time in the United Kingdom. The time in the United Kingdom is equal to GMT half a year every year, but it's off the other half. People (ab-)using the term 'GMT' in the way you do confuse many other people who aren't centered on the United Kingdom. =AFK=

DT is always 11:00-12:00 GMT well actually it always seems to start at 10:57 GMT and will come back up any time from 11:30 to 15:00 [on a bad bad day ] The UK europe and most of the world have Sunner times where they move the clock forward an hour [this does not mean that GMT moves GMT == UCT [or very nearly]] The clock on your wall is not the same clock as the clock eve runs on ...
to the OP - you may have hit a dead node when you tried to log in .. a relog of the client may have cured that [ this is also the case when you get a log in queue]
GMT == UCT == eve time GMT is not the same as BST

Honestly, how hard can this be:
11:00-12:00 GMT, 12:00-13:00 BST!
Britain is not on GMT in the summer! Its on BST! GMT + 1!!!!!!

GMT does not change forwards or backwards because of some silly notion of "daylight saving". It stays on the same track throughout the year.
Most countries follow a "daylight saving" stupidity. In the UK and other contries that sit on GMT during winter, when they change to "summer time" they do not stay on GMT. Because GMT didn't change - they did.
There is a supprising number of folk that think GMT adjusts during summer time. There was an entire discourse about "zooloo" time once and how it changed. Not only was it an amusing read but the poor bugger didn't know what "Zulu" time really was...
