Hey guys, I want faction spawns.
Is there much difference in the chance in getting them between true 0.0 security, and true -1.0 security? Is -0.8 essentially just as likely as -1.0, or is it logarithmic sorta?

I think it's safe to say we all want faction spawns
As far as true sec status of a system goes, I know it definitely affects the quality of the "regular" rats; ie: in a -8 system, you're more likely to see 1.5 and above BS spawns as opposed to a -1 to -5 system, where you usually see their 500-950k bretheren.
I'm not sure if true sec status affects faction spawns. AFAIK, to increase your chances of getting a faction/officer to spawn, you need to clear out EVERYTHING in every belt and hope by chance one pops up. This will of course negate the "chaining" method of ratting - which I think will net you a good deal more isk/hr than clearing everything and hoping for a rare spawn.
Hope that helps...

Do you mean clear everything in every belt at once? Say there's 10 belts, are you saying I'll get MUCH more changing in getting a faction spawn if I clear all 10, then clearing 9? More than say an extra 9th chance?

This is the deal
In conquerable space 0.0 regions: Lower sec increases the chances of an officer spawn. I have had many many faction spawns and they are not affected by sec status if you discount officer spawns.
NPC 0.0 regions (Syndicate et al): All systems are equally likely to spawn any faction spawn.
Probably no one wants to tell you their "secrets" to finding them normally, but many people are making a healthy living from them. Quite simply, the above, it's all you need to know. In a nut shell, the more spawns you look at, the more chance you'll see one....

Cool thanks. That's sort of weird, but OK. DO you agree clearing all the belts at once helps a lot then?
Weird low sec increases officer but not faction!

If a spawn is not a faction spawn, then killing it means that one may spawn, that is all you need to understand really...killing many spawns means that you increase the chances... I rarely spend or have spent any time in empire, but while engaged in other business I have stumbled accross 2 faction spawns in lo sec also - whilst I was just belt scanning for ratters (when npc rats showed on scanners).

i dont beleive so, what i think he said earlier is you have to kill everything in that oine particular belt, because if u leave a frig or so because ur chaining then same spawn will come and u wont ever get a faction spawn. so kill all spawn, just doing it in all belts in a system will increase your chances of getting a faction spawn since theres more belts fro them to come at
regardelss they are rare, ive only seen one mky entire time ive spoent in 0.0 and thats just about my whole life in 0.0 and that been about 4-5 months
