I swear CCP are the kings of removing functionality and replacing it with less useful options no one asked for just for the new shiny.

It was a pleasant surprise indeed. Exactly what I've longed for for years; a shining beacon of elegance, perfection and ease-of-use, plus it's beautiful to boot- unlike the new character window which will take a LOT of getting used to. You can just right click on the simulate ship icon and choose simulate my ship, and it will simulate the ship you are in currently, not the last one. Else you can just choose ship from the fittings on the left panel. There is so much functionalities I dont even. I think I will have to experiment some more with it.
