Are you a Piracy outfit? Having trouble tracking your ransoms and splitting them over the people involved in the gang? Are you dropping cruisers because it is too much hassle to split 4.5mil ransom over 7 guys? Having a hard time running a ransoming operation with people joining and leaving the gang the whole time? Splitting the loot and the ransoms taking too much time away from your ganking?
There is a solution; There is GriefSplit(tm).
We need your help Beta-Testing it, (3 week alpha test has been done within the Black Rabbits and Piracy satisfaction has increased with 34.7%)
How does it work?
Basically you have a gang in griefsplit, run by the commander, and people join and leave the gang as they join and leave the in game gang (for example people leave the griefsplit gang when they dock for dinner and reactivate when they come back).
Secondly, the commander (the person that receives the ransoms) adds each ransom to the griefsplit gang, which is automatically split over the active participants... also if there is loot the commander can add the value for which the corp buys the loot to the griefsplit gang.
It is even possible to take out a corp-tax automatically from each ransom and loot drop. When the day is over (the commander retires) he closes down the gang, and it shows for each pilot that has been active, what their split is... so John who was active from 14:00 till 15:30 gets 11mil and peter who was active from 13:55 till 15:45 gets 120mil etc.
The payout menu is very easy, it shows the amounts, in cut&paste format next to the click-able link of each pilot, so you can easily copy the amount, right-click on a face and do > give money. It saves tons of math, it is fair and it is easy to payout the 150mil from those 30 cruisers ransomed versus having to fiddle around after each ransom.
Use: 1) All transactions need to be trusted... make sure you are trusted, there are some bugs currently where you think you are trusted but it actually shows in the menu you are not trusted. If there is odd behaviour FIRST double-check the site is trusted.
Step1) Gang-commander creates a gang: click on the create-gang button on the GriefSplit(tm) with the In Game Browser: http://www.house-of-yngling.net/griefsplit/ Step2) The Gang-commander receives a Member link in his commander menu, it will look something like: http://www.house-of-yngling.net/griefsplit/member.jsp?id=20070401115811123123123 Step3) The Gang-commander pastes this link to the squad or gangchat.. and each member clicks that link to join the gang Step4) The Gang-commander presses (add earning) for each ransom and makes sure that each person that joins/leaves actually joins/leaves griefsplit Step5) before the engagement [closes] the gang, he should do [see sum] to do the payouts of the day..

Hmmmm, no, but that is a good point, we could add that to the features and get godmode vision on competition ;), this was actually developed for in-house use... and we are looking for an upgrade so it can show statistics/corp. So you can link that section to your "Ransom leader board" for those organisations that value ammount ransomed > ammount killed.

Wow - cool concept. We could actually use this for splitting contract loot as well. But the big problem is being a trusted site ... will you hand out the code for others to run when it's out of beta? Otherwise, you have a pretty nice pirate locating service to sell to pirate hunters or to carebears just looking to avoid camps.
I know you guys are mean and nasty and all that, but could you honestly resist not taking money from carebears so they can avoid your competition? It's like free ransoms without the work.

Yes, planning to release it as Open Source after beta... though its javabased but that shouldn't be a major issue.
Well I can honestly say there is at this moment not an "admin interface" to check activity/competition yet, <grin> but I can see and understand teh concerns.

We needs this BIG TIME.
EDIT: how about some glue or something?
EDIT EDIT: Hey this tool needs something else: loot split. When faction fitted Hyperions get ganked, then a guy leaves the gang, somebody else joins and you gank a couple more T2 fitted BS's, the loot splitting is a royal pain in the balls.
Any thoughts?
Sincerely, K'reemy ---
