Edited by: Draithan on 02/04/2007 04:57:32 Anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?
I see this on stations, turrets etc occasionally. Its like a polygon is not closed properly on the models.
Any ideas?

Edited by: chrisreeves on 02/04/2007 09:32:26 I'm sorry to say that this happened to me but it was my card that was going bad. I had the 7900 Nvidia series as well. Mine was an XFX and I contacted them and explained the situation. After doing some tests and what not, they told me to send it back to them and they ended up replacing it even though it was 8 months old at the time. In return they sent a 7950GT
I had other issues as well such as discoloration of the bios screen during boot, red dots on my screen all the time and weird graphical issues.
I certainly hope that this isn't the case with you but I went through a couple months of trying to figure it out to end up where I did.

You know that optimization where game renders only front of the object, or could say it renders only what you see but not the objects back to save processing power. Sometimes corruption occurs, due to driver being setup incorrectly or gfx card failure.
It can be the driver settings, or your card went to GFX heaven. Ether way, try uninstall the driver, then use driver cleaner to totaly delete all traces of files left. Then go and download latest OFFICIAL driver. Leave at default settings. If it doesnt work, use max quality settings.

I cleaned out the drivers as suggested, downloaded the latest nforce drivers from nvidia (non-beta).
Still have the same problem.
However, to update as I pay more attention, it seems to affect the Drake, and Warp Disrupt batteries, stasis batteries... Will have to fly around and look at what else may be affected.

Did you enable advancedDevice=1?
If soo did you change (or played with) graphics options at all?

Do I or do I not want to enable advanceddevice=1 and where do I do that at? I have been starting to play with the options now to see if something will help....

I been having the same problem with polygons but added to this I had white triangles flashing continually over the screen - very annoying and some times unplayable. Turned out to also be an expired gfx card, my desktop and all windows apps were fine but eve and most other 3d games gave this problem.
Also, I got odd problems with dos screens not displaying properly, the occasional char being the wrong colour or wrong char. odd.
I played with advancedDevice=1 (add advancedDevice=1 to your prefs.ini file in your EVE/cache folder) settings but they made no difference to this problem.
My card was an ATI X1900GT and it's on it's way back to the factory now...
