The abaddon is worth it for mission running if you already have amarran BS skills and do not have any other BS skills.
That is about it. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

Skill for the hyperion. You'll never regret being able to fly domi and have drone skills for ishtar, eos.

A max skilled Abaddon is scary + its way cooler and looks better then the other two.

i fly rokh atm...but am trading it in for hyperion in next couple days so i can try that out.
i love the hyperion..the look of it...although it can be pain in the a**e to fit :D but the abaddon looked pretty sweet as well, and ive flown with a couple mates who use apocs...and those lasers seem to dish out serious dps!!!
so i guess wot im askin is...how does this ships tanking and dps ability hold up to the hyperion?
and are lasers really that powerful!......(my mate was gettin like 700dps with one laser shot!!...i could be mistaken...but thats wot his log said)

Eh, autocannons.
Should work with blasters too.
But minmatar ships and Gallente ships do a better job of that, so its not exactly a good training route. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

The abaddon has a major cap problem. You have to use powergrid rigs so you can fit in 24% relays insted of RCU's (3 x cap rigs dont cut it im afraid)
The lack of midslots means that you have 1 Cap booster, 2 Sensor Booster, which means that if you are using tach's, you have to use at least 2 tracking enhancers II to hit a range that other BS's can shoot at. You may even need to use 3 Tracking Enhancer II's, which leaves you with hardly any lowslots. And then you add in heatsinks and so on so in the end, its a bugger to use. Long story short, the abaddon seriously needs a lot more cap to be honest --

The Abaddon plays a specific role, you just need to decide which role you want to use it for. Give us a bit more information on what you want to use it for and we'll be able to give some more detailed information about it.

Projectile abaddon mounts a beastly tank with variable, capless damage output. And since you don't have the required cap reduction lasers will suck your cap dry sooooo fast.
I feel blasphemous for writing that, but sadly it is true. ----------------

Use energy weapon cap use rigs. It comes out on top of the CCC/CPR build.
Cheaper too.
But its still not that great. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |

I think you meant 700 damage with one shot. Ya thats doable. I used to get more than that with Modulated Tachs on an Apoc. Here is the thing about the Abaddon, it's cap is terrible. If you can work with a cap injector, then it has beautiful powergrid and cpu and a pretty sweet tank. I haven't flown one on Tq but on test server I got one something like 800 DPS but I only have large pulse spec to lvl 3 so if I got that up to 4 or 5 that would be really nice.

Quite true, however some setups are only possible with the use of 3 powergrid rigs and AWG lvl4 or higher. You can use energy weapon rigs, however that results in less flexibility, when compared to a, say, Rokh, which is a easy ship to fit with rigs.
Dont get me wrong, the abaddon is one of the best fleet ships for as long as it has cap boosters, but I guess many abaddon pilots need someone with a 37.5% cap gang bonus to really use this ship properly --

Yea, you need AWU5, rigging 5 in order to make the energy weapon cap use rigs fit with only 2 RCU IIs at least that is what i recalled the last time i checked. ---------------------------------------- Thou Shalt "Pew Pew" |
