Do I need Freespace 2 to play the demo, couldn't find any info anywhere apart from Freespace 2 mod, so I'm guessing I do

The game is 100% stand-alone.. get the demo NOW!
Very good quality, especially the voice acting. Has a few quirks in it yet but is absolutely fun to play. Oh and was it mentioned it has a nice pallet of multiplayer?
Go to fs2netd.game-warden.com/ to make an account. Then enter the log on details in the Options > Multi screen. Change to a multiplayer-game pilot and head to the briefing room.
See you out there!

Game features: ò Powered by the revamped Freespace 2 engine ò Entirely stand-alone, Freespace 2 not required
Doubt ill find to the time to install this, shame.. freespace used to be one of my favourite pc games.
I think it was a couple of years ago when they released that movie, looked impressive.. dunno maybe i might find the time and inclination in my annual two week sabbatical in the summer (think rainy day)
Generaly not a fan of the new bsg though.. 70's was/is more my thing (heresy around these parts i know)
70's mod... id have found the time ______

Well i played the demo, there looks to be a good deal of effort put in it. Not quite as polished as freespace but to be expected.
I doubt the full version will be anything spectacular, more something to pick up and play when you're bored.

It's stand alone? Cool, I'm actually gonna give it a shot now. I thought I need freespace at first.

It's good fun, I think i might have to go and dust off a joystick for increased control. Nice that the demo is standalone and looks and plays reasonably well.

I love it, damned hard to fly too. Cylons wasted me first mission

This would be so much better if my joystick would work correctly.
I seem to be stuck in a loop going down and to the left.
makes it hard to fly...
Calibration looks fine, but in the game...WHEEEE, LOOPS!

Played this last night, my joystick worked fine (old Logitech Wingman Extreme, I had to literally blow the dust off it).
They did a great job so far, from what I can tell from the basic missions they have in the demo. The viper engine sound is a bit too loud in my opinion, at full throttle you can barely hear any dialog. Voice acting's pretty good for an independently developed thingy.
It's pretty tough though even with a joystick. I'm sure they were going for some ultra-realistic feel with you having to hit the cylons spot on, but it get pretty damn tough to do so when the hitbox is so tiny. Maybe if the hitpoints on the raiders were cranked down to match more what the show has, it would be more interesting.
So far though I'm looking forward to seeing the game when it's released.

I finally got my joystick to work, and realized the reason I don't use the X45 anymore is that the resistance on the damn thing makes my hand hurt.
Oh, and the hitboxes on BTRL are tiny.
Wow.
otherwise, it sure is neato.
