1) After a gang size of say 20 or slightly above, reduce the % of bonus that gangskills provide to all gangmembers. Small gangs get the full bonus, larger ones get a watered down amount.
2) Stop Local/NPC Corp and Newbie channels from displaying any messages containing www. or .com, .whatever websites. Saw quite a few sites annoyingly advertised in the newbie channel when i started a new char.

1: why?
pumping bonuses out to an entire fleet is already a royal pain, it requires having 1 guy with fleet 5, 5 guys with wing 5 and 25 guys with leadership 5 all in space in the same system and correctly organised into a command structure.
In the unlikely event that you manage to pull that off it seems only fair that you get the full reward for it, especialy considering that as soon as any of those 31 leaders start dying chunks of your fleet start losing bonuses.

1) CCP said they wanted smaller engagements, and this would either be an idea to make that come about, or at least try and make more than a few specialised pilots giving boni to masses of people. Could get more pilots command/leadership oriented instead of relying on a few to boost loads.

1) smaller battles needed to handle the comp load?
how about adressing this issue this way instead...
force this fleet battle to occur in deadspace, perhaps by making large fleet assemblies illegal, according to concorde, in major areas. Or perhaps just make it impractical in some way, unless in deadspace.
Because you're in deadspace EVE can distribute the server load to the computers involved in the battle. All the time you maintain a connection to the battle servers and the eve servers. Many battle servers could be run, so as to each keep tabs on each other (no cheats) and to give you fail-over redundancy, on client PC's. A PC's serving liability could be determined by the % CPU usage, so a 500 ship armada doesn't get served by a 286...

As for 2)
Sure, but remember people in chat have every right to plug their eve website, to do with their corp or their 'insane warehouse price crash madness' thing.
perhaps, instead, somehwere else is made to house this.

Please no! we have enough clutter there already.
Since we have a contracts system, add advertising contracts so players can advertise there it also serves as an isk sink if corps are using the advertising to get new members.

Add warp fuel to the game instead. All ships needs warpfuel for warping. And as b4, jump fuel if they can't/don't use gates. Large gangs will be expensive.
If you don't like what I say, just ignore it, or admit I got to you. |
