Have you noticed any increased drop rates of encryption skill books from exploration sites after last patch? What is the average drop rate of them now and do they drop only in 0.0 sites?
Looking at market prices it doesn't look like supply has increased that much or demand is perhaps to high now.

They only drop in empire COSMOS static complexes, to my knowledge one complex per race. For example, Gallente Encryption Methods drops in the Serpentis Survey Site (one of the rooms in the Contested Gallente Skeleton Comet plex in Deltole) and nowhere else.
Good luck farming a copy there - they are permacamped by suspected macroers. ------------ Ezra Cornell

And sickeningly enough, decryptor prices are going through the roof despite their mass availability.
Back in the day before invention took off there were 4-8 decryptors per sell order on market at 6 mil a piece (for this particular one),,, now there are orders of hundreds at 15 mil a piece.
They're cashing in on the heightened invention profits and will soon realise inventors wont pay that sort of cash when competition becomes apparent

Decryptors were even cheaper than that. Installation guide decryptors were below 1 mill just after Revelation patch. And they are a pretty common drop as well.
How did my thread about encryption skill books turn into a thread about decryptors lol.

The drop rate of encryption skill books in 0.0 exploration sites was increased quite a bit, but it seems that the demand is much higher now.
I have found 3 skill books within the last two weeks, while I have found 1 book in all the time since Revelations.

Encryption Skill Books drop occasionally in Magnetometric Sites (ArcSal) in low sec Empire aswell.
so - no need to camp the cosmos complex - and no exclusive 0.0 content either.

Only 3 in two weeks? The drop rate in empire cosmos is close to one per hour or two over the entire complex if it's farmed effectively (which it is now). Guess the devs didn't really do their homework on this change.

Out of how many Archsal sites was that?

Edited by: Kylar Renpurs on 04/04/2007 23:33:33 Sorry, perhaps skimming off to decryptors with my previous post, but the encryption skillbooks are the same story. These cosmos plexes are now being farmed heavily, and the (disgusting) thing is prices are *going up* instead of *going down* despite the abundance of these materials now. Encryption skillbooks which were available for 250 mil (at least, when i bought mine) with no more than 4 available on the market, are now figuring at close to 300/350 mil, with a plentiful supply on the market. I mean, i hear these things drop from exploration complexes too, but wtf,, is this aspect of invention going to be exploited to stop the T2 market from dropping? Fair call i spose that it's a way for groups to fight the fast decreasing prices of T2 equipment, but it turns invention into a bit of a farce.
Maybe the Encryption skillbooks and decryptors should be available for purchase with some insane amount of RPs

^^ fair request, Having the Dev's place these for 'sale' with the Research agents like datacores would resolve all the price gouging on the items.
