I have recently patented among the House of Records a new design for quickly, painfully, and most importantly, clean way of eliminating those in society we see as useless. Using a ships power core or other source of electricty the condemned are electrocuted to death and then incinerated. No blood, no gore, some small ashes but incinerators do their job very well.
To use the device the condemned must first be restrained and ideally shaved to facilate conduction (shaving is not necessary but I try to avoid uncontrolled fire). Then the power conduits are hooked to the source. The source determines the ammount of electricity running through the condemned. My ships core can transmit through its interface up to 150 Amperes of electricity at 1.5 million Volts (the is ~20 the lethal dose of electricty to a human being).
If you desire to see a test or are interested in purchasing your own unit capable of disposing of 5 at a time please do not hesitate the eve-mail me.

Can the remnants be made suitable for consumption by slaver hounds?

Ash is generally too small to be consumed by slaver hounds. Plus wouldn't that be cruelty to slaver hounds?

5 at a time huh? More like, you'll be MAKING a killing.
How many units would need to be sold for this to be more efficient then any other method pilots can normally use nowadays? Not to mention the time and manpower needed to prepare the "condemned".
Back to the drawing board with you!

wel tossing them out the airlock and then firing a weapon at them works, wastes a unit of ammo but that doesnt cost that much

Sounds too fast and efficient for my liking, but keep up the creativity and keep me posted.

Edited by: Aria Jenneth on 07/04/2007 03:56:25 Needlessly flashy, labor intensive, and, perhaps ironically, messy.
This really doesn't seem necessary. Wrap the prisoner in a watertight, biologically generated barrier to contain any release of the bowels, inject him / her with an overdose of anaesthetic compound (or a lethal, degradable substance of your choice, really), and it's off to biomass recycling. It's not that bloody complicated.
Unless, of course, you're aiming for sadistic spectacle. By the way, the voltage you're suggesting would, unless I'm badly mistaken, instantly and painlessly kill the subject. You'd be as well off just giving your victim (forgive me if I assume a bit about just what you'd be wanting out of this from your choice of words) a painless, lethal injection and saving yourself the trouble.
In the meantime, I find myself more than a little curious just who you'd be thinking of sticking in this contraption.

You should look over your figures again, good sir.
As a qualified Engineer, trust me when I say that as little as 200mA (milliamps) of current, at 24V (volts) is enough to kill a subject by fibrillation of the heart.
Your "device" is pointless, in that it would cause pretty much instant death to the "Condemned" as you like to call them, rather than any form of pain, suffering or indignity.
Also, I would hardly consider it a "clean" method of removing people from existance. Have you even seen what happens to an individual when subjected to a massive dose of electrical current? Let me elaborate :
> Burning skin that has a tendancy to blister, ***** and fall from the body. > Involuntary muscular spasming. > Involuntary loss of bowel and bladder control. > Involuntary contraction of the stomach muscles, resulting in violent vomiting. > Complete confusion and loss of control of the central nervous system. > Uncontrolled release of saliva in the throat and mouth.
That's quite a mess to clean up... I suggest you look over your patent.
If you require any assistance in... disposing of individuals effectively, don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for your questions and concerns. I have directed them to my scientists who have modified the orginal design into the Mark 2 patent pending. The Mark 2 instead functions by attaching the condemned to two highly temperature resistant conduction points inside the incinerator. Then they are electrocuted and incinerated without having to move them. Any biological wastes generated are incinerated along with the bodies. A viewing port is included for those who desire to witness.

I respectfully suggest, that for efficiency and cost-effectiveness to the lesser affluent, you simply restrain them near the heat exchange pipes of the ship reactors, with sprinklings of salt. Thus they will be palatable for slaver hound consumption within an hour or two.
