The 'BALEEN'
The Baleen would be a Tier 2 BLACKOPS enabled Capital Freighter, designed for carrying Fitted Ships through blockades and other hostile areas, and while it can go through High Sec... it is not at home in High Sec... it enjoys danger... it belongs in Wormholes and Null Sec where it can be used to its full potential. Designed for use in hostile zones to carry large numbers of fitted ships... means it needs to be able to survive at least a little longer than its High Sec sister ship frame it is built off of. To that end the hull and shield were boosted and the on-board Inertial Dampeners were boosted to make it turn and align faster at the cost of one of the Rigging Slots and a slower Capacitor Recharge Rate. Not only that, but to make it even more useful, any non-essential systems were gutted to make it a little bigger inside as well, so it can haul more and larger ships, and more cargo to support them at their final destination.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
BALEEN:
Ore Freighter Bonus: 2% bonus to inertia modifier per level 5% bonus to ship maintenance array capacity per level
Role Bonus: 2% bonus to ship maintenance array capacity per level
Black Ops bonuses (per skill level): 5% bonus to ship inertia modifier 125% bonus to ship max velocity when using Cloaking Devices
Role Bonus: GÇó Can fit Covert Cynosural Field Generator and Covert Jump Portal Generator GÇó No targeting delay after Cloaking Device deactivation GÇó Cloak reactivation delay reduced to 5 seconds 50% reduction to effective distance traveled for jump fatigue
Slot layout: 1H, 4M, 3L, 2R; 0 turrets, 0 launchers Fittings: 3000 PWG, 700 CPU Defense (shields / armor / hull) : 31000 / 21000 / 49500 Capacitor (amount / recharge) : 4900 / 255000 Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / warp speed / align time): 105 / .0575 / 630000000 / 2.0 / 45.00s Drones (bandwidth / bay): 0 / 0 Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 55.0km / 55 / 3 Capacity (cargo / ship maintenance array): 7500 / 1500000 (goes up to 2.1 something with ore freighter 5) Sensor strength: 15 Signature radius: 1100
What do ya'll think?
Please... instead of flaming with unhelpful stuff like "that's stupid" and "you're and idiot" please kindly help with the math and the numbers... and maybe the description a bit as well please. If I gave it something that you feel would not fit the spirit of the Black Ops, like if I took Sig Radius or Scan Resolution or something and made it go the wrong way for a ship that is trying to be stealthy... please TELL ME... some of these figures work like golf scores it seems so I am not super familiar with what numbers would be good or any exact numerical values for the attributes... the only one I calculated was the cargo capacity because it was the only one that make sense...
... PLEASE KINDLY FEEL FREE TO CORRECT MY MATH. Thank you.
Anything else... flaming or anything else equally silly... please keep it to a minimum.
Thank you. |

I see what you're going for here, but there's a really good reason that the only covops cloaky haulers aren't able to transport an entire fleet through a covops cyno.
Anything bigger than the current niche that is filled by blockade runners IMO simply removes too much risk from hauling.
As it is now a JF does essentially the job of this thing. It hauls a ton of stuff, and it uses a jump drive to get around camps. I wouldn't be opposed to a t2 bowhead that was just basically a JF for fitted ships, but carrying that much cargo, warping cloaked, and actually receiving a bonus from the cloak?
Its like you want to completely kill literally all other haulers. |

Not to be totally negative though:
I DO like the idea of a dedicated "fleet anchor" covops ship that isn't a battleship. I just don't think a hauler is the way to go. Covops carriers with the covops portal get would be more appropriate. Just glassier covops carriers that can jump covops fleets would be cool and wouldn't break the entire game the way this would, and would have a more synergistic role with those fleets (covops fleet logi) without completely breaking force projection. The carrier version would be far easier to balance. Give it less fighter bandwidth and shittier reps or whatever so its objectively worse as both a carrier or FAX than the normal versions at the same price point, and let it fit a covops cloak and cyno/bridge generator.
Something something sneaking up on a fleet fight in cloaky glass carriers and having a tankier suprise cyno for teh suprisefleet. |

Ok, I see what you are saying yeah. Ok, how about just the Bowhead, with similar stats to what I put, but NOT cov-ops cloaky then? Obviously the math needs to be adjusted. :-P

Tougher freighters with jump drives have LESS capacity than t1 counter parts. You're probably looking for 750k m3 at all level 5 for its maintenance bay.
Not totally against the concept though.

750K would be pathetic when the Tier 1 STARTS at 1.4 Mil m3... Maybe 1mil M3 so long as it has faster speed, better agility, and can cloak up. |

Look at freighters and t2 freighters for a comparison.

With the new capital modules we got, a capital micro-jump drive would solve some of the problems, maybe.
