thanks for the reply, the pos was on its own and since this afternoon the batterys have arrived, i have taken down the shields on them, there was no armor, once i got to structure my damage to it was like 10 :) so technically i need to kill the tower before i can do anything else?
Mmmmm that could take me a while.......... |

Thanks for that reply. My last question was refering to the actual towers resists are they still in effect if the tower is offline?

The POS was probably online when it was attacked, otherwise there would have been no need to shoot the laser batteries. The attacker took them out first so that he didn't have to bother with reps and could continue with DPS ships only or maybe his reps weren't quite strong enough to withstand the full firepower and he had to take down a couple for safety.
For some reason the attacker didn't finish the POS off, maybe he got driven off, maybe he bashed it to the invulnerabiltiy timer, but never came back for the second stage bash.
The owner decided to abandon it, that is a guess, but there is no other external mods floating there and it is unlikely that he only put two mods on. Only the owner can remove external mods while the Tower is still there. But he can't remove (unanchor) incapacitated mods without repping them first. Generally it isn't worth the effort, regular laser batteries aren't that expensive.
Note the use of the word 'external', by this I mean mods that reside outside the force field, generally weapons, ECM and tackle. (Internal) Mods that reside inside the forcefield - Hardeners, labs, silos and various storage hangers can be unachored (or destroyed) by anyone once the tower goes off line (and the bubble drops), without having to remove the Tower first.
Why didn't the owner remove the Tower too? Probably because he wanted it to remain there to prevent another entity putting up a POS on that moon. A lot of WH corps put anchored but offline sticks up on every moon in their WH to make it difficult for enemies to set up a base from which to evict them from.
thanks for this info what you say above fits the scenario i have at the moment and makes perfect sense. |
