I can't get them to organize no matter what i do. I've tried numbers in front, and using carrots ">" in front..but they are still appearing randomly listed.
I want fighters at the top, heavy next, medium next, and so on..yet it won't set it up no matter what order i make the folders.

Mine always go in alphabetic. Maybe if you precede them with a number or something?

Sorry to "necro" this topic, but I have the same problem and my folders are definately not organizing themselves alphabetically.
I've created a few testfolders and put drones into them, and it looks like that now:
ECM 1 (1)
ECM 2 (1)
ECM 3 (1)
Small 2 (1)
Small 3 (1)
Fighters (1)
Small 1 (1)
Heavy 2 (1)
Heavy 3 (1)
Heavy 1 (1)
Restarted client allready, no change. When I release drones and pull them back the same order is reastablished.
*scratches head*
Anyone else with that problem ? :P
Edit: Just to clarify, I've created them not in a random fashion but one group ( Heavy -> Small -> ECM -> Fighters ) at a time. The allgorythm thats used to put them in that order is totaly beyond me.
Allready tested it with numers ( 1 - , 2 - , 3 - ) etc. Same problem.

I have exactly the same problem, it just sucks. It will only sort em random. Its very hard to find what you are looking for. That and its cluttering up the overview (to many folders).

I can imagine this problem would be pretty annoying with a carrier?

Yes, it is pretty annoying. So please CCP, just make it alphabetically or sumthing ;(
