Edited by: dabster on 09/04/2007 13:00:49 Im just getting started with Sony Vegas 7.0. I have been editing movies for a long time using Adobe Premiere so this feels like a stupid thing to ask..
I look and look but i cant find where to speed up clips to 150/200% of realtime, anyone want to tell me? ___________________________ Trust In Rust!

Right click on the video in the timeline, then select insert/remove velocity envelope, now you can move the bar in the middle up and down to increase/decrease the speed.
nubster ;P
now give us a new vid
and vegas is pwn, i myself am to lazy to use anything else but moviemaker.. mostly cause it takes so much less effort.. and everyone just wanna see the fights anyway ;P

Yeah ^^ that. I think that has a max speed of 300% and if you need more just r-click the clip and go to properties, you should see playback speed at the default 1.000 setting.

Why do you want to use Vegas instead of Premiere? I use Vegas myself too, but from what I heard Premiere is much more advanced and in general 'better'

vegas is better for fx, simple as that.. premiere makes cleaner vids.. like comparing documentarie with an action movie ;p

Because for some strange reason Premiere has been using a LOT more resources the longer i've had it installed. So badly that last week when i had been messing with 2 different vids for some weeks, it turns out my pc locks up after encoding for an hour if the vid is longer than ~5 minutes :(
I ♥ Premiere i really do, but uninstalling/reinstalling and everything else i tried didnt help. So im seeing if Sony vegas is more compatible or if its simply my hardware going bonkers.
Cheers for the help o/ ___________________________ Trust In Rust!

Vegas has a nicer interface for adding FX, but thats about it, Premier is better for general editing, and Vegas has better compression in my experiance.
I use premier now, much easier to achive the effect that I want with it. -----
