These numbers could be tweaked but you get the gist.
Declaring war on a corp 1-10 players û 200mil a week. Declaring war on corp 11-100 players û 100mil a week. Declaring war on corp 101-1000 players - 50 mil a week.
Declaring war on a alliance 1-5 corps û 40mil a week. Declaring war on alliance 6-11 corps û 30 mil a week. Declaring war on alliance 12-1000 corps - 20 mil a week.
Reasoning: This works out for everyone. Making small corps more expensive creates more deterrent for harassment. While decreasing the cost to declare on large alliances creates more targets at less overall cost. This also adds more incentive to stick with a smaller groups.

Yes please. This is good. It would make privateers able to make many more wars!!!

The only problem with the "new" war system is that it fails to follow the market like the rest of EVE. Perhaps tieing warfees into a mineral-index could work?
Also, there used to be a hard limit of three wars with no fees. This prevented rampant grief, although allowing wars to run forever (which in hindsight was bad for the community).
Perhaps it is time CCP developers have a look at the whole CONCORD sanctioned war idea, and re-visit the mechanics of it? With more ISK around in the game, it is clear that some organisations have the means to fund dozens of wars. I recall one of the arguments AGAINST the "new" war system when it was announced wents along the lines of "with no hard limit, what is to stop someone rich enough from griefing everyone?"
I dont remember what the DEV response was, but it HAS been customary for CCP to re-code something when they are unhappy with how it works. Having said that, Perhaps CCP think this aging war system works fine?
Come to think of it, this thread belongs in the game dev forum area... -- Support democracy! - Because it has to work |

Sigh.
What happens when two small corps, with new players, want to fight each other.
They can't because they can't afford it?

The only thing I can see happening is that larger corporations and alliances will split up into smaller sections so that it becomes more costly to declare war against them.
The idea, while solid, could end up slapping CCP back in the face.

Counter-decs drop the fee to 0, no? So if they BOTH want the war, they don't have to pay anything.

Less blobbing, less lag if that where the case. not a bad thing in my book.

This is a good idea.
It makes sense to. Why would Concord charge more for alliance war decs. It is in Concord's best interest for these large alliances to be at odds in Empire space. Concord should see large alliances as a threat. It also make sense to charge more to dec a small corp, Concord is there to protect the small people after all And it should cost dearly for them to turn a blind eye. |
