Edited by: Kivers on 09/04/2007 17:09:21 Complete noob when it comes to plexes but have recently given a couple a go and have encountered uber tanking overseers - basically seems they are set to recharge shield/armour to max intermitently even if your dps is through 1000.
Is there a way to kill these other than by shooting them for an inordinately long time? This seemed to work the first time, the other I ran out of time and had to log out after shooting it for like 20 minutes
I had totally cleared the level before starting on it too - is there often some structure to destroy first or some strategy I'm missing on these overseers or do I just need to shoot them for a long time before they stop the crazy tanking and start going down??? The overseer in question on this occasion was "True Creations Park Overseer" in a 6/10 Sansha plex.
All help would be greatly appreciated |

You're missing DPS.

You may have to get in closer and use ammo that has better DPS.
I ran into a Blood Bishop at a gate in 0.3 space in Genesis and it took me almost a half hour to kill him in a Punisher. Finally, I had to take the plunge and go after him with Multifrequency S in my 3 Modals and orbit him at 5K. Every time he hit me it took my shields almost all the way down. It was really intense, but once I switched tactics, I had him dead in 7 minutes :D

Edited by: Kivers on 09/04/2007 20:38:04 The DPS doesn't seem to matter even if it's 1000+ I can take the Overseer to zero shield only for it to recharge instantaneously to full
The same thing happened to me with an Angel overseer in a different complex - I could take him to 1% structure then all of a sudden his armour and shield boosted back to full instantly until he eventually began to go down (several minutes later) and died. |

I have not done many Plexes myself, but one (Blood) had an Overser structure that only repped huge amounts when you where within a certain range iirc., so possibly shooting it from very far may solve the problem. In my case it was > 60km.
Hope it helps

in addition, hit him with NOS if you can spare the highslots. NOS modules increase the chance that NPCs won't rep armor/shield every cycle. so more NOS = less rep. pew pew! |

Almost every Overseer forgets to repair if you go more than 60km away. Once 60km away you can approach back upto your optimal and as long as it does not change aggro - you just need to beat its shield recharge rate to win. --

Not exactly a plex, but there is a lvl3? mission "The repair station" and guess what that structure does as long as u havent killed it? :) It repped a sanshas cruiser shield completely every 5 seconds or so.

It's the 6/10 sansha complex you're trying to do, and the True Creations Park Overseer has a crazy tank.
One fullgank arma can take it down without too many issues, but else you need alot of DPS. We were usually able to do it in 2 x T2 sniperthrons without problems.
The 4th level (next one) has a similar NPC. Although this guys tank isn't quite as strong, so it should be easier to get through this guy.
5th and final level has Effortbert or whatever he is called. He has a probably 33% stronger tank than the True Creations Overseer, so I'd recommend bringing in a strong tank (HAC or Commandship) plus 2-4 gank BS for damage support the first few times you try this complex. Crazy DPS is needed for this complex all together. All together it's harder than the serpentis 10/10 plexes I've done.
Hope this helps.

Thanks all - managed it ok in a solo blaster Domi
Appreciate the tip about going 60km+ away and reapproaching - that would provide another work around in future should I be mid way through and stuck |
