So I was looking around the options list and lo and behold there is Audio in Eve.
If you enable this there are all kinds of sound effects.
Furthermore,
ctrl-shift-alt + e
and
ctrl-shift-alt + t
turn on a number of graphical effects.
Eve is actually a pretty nice game to look at. Laser look fun.
I always wondered how Carebears stay sane. Now I know.

last time I had sound turned on I was told by a CCP GM to turn it off... My pc crashed everythime I was getting nossed and the sounds was the problem (apparantly)

My game crashes every time someone runs an armor repper (Let's see, thats just about every single engagement in the game then...) unless I turn sound off. Normally I'm listening to music anyway, but I liked the pewpew noises

When i'm going solo or small gang, I keep sound on (and pray my internet doesn't crash)
When i'm in a fleet op, I turn sound off (and pray my internet doesn't crash)
Not so much my computer, but the dreaded AOL messes my gaming experience up

I dont get what everyone's problem is with sounds... Sounds in my EVE work fine and do their job wonderfully.
...who of course promptly went bat****, flipped out and killed some people. |

I keep sound on and I have no problems - shooting corpse noise is great.

i have sound in eve, the movies i play on my tv!
any time i turn sound on it slows me down obscenely.

Now I know most of you don't have anything to do with this but, get 2 or 3 Strip Miners going and the sound is like waves crashing. If you have that sound and the music turned on in a belt while mining, you can pass out instantly. It happened to me and my head landed in a Biohazard box full of AIDS patients' ****** needles. Wow I feel kinda floaty....like....a big.....purple......*Snooooooore*

The sounds are fine. Except for the ghastly warp sound. Remember when it was disabled for a few days due to a patch bug? Mmm...

Sound periodically restarts my PC. I keep it disabled. At least I know it's not just me... and most everyone I run into.

I have found that crashs are caused by Driver issues and Hardware Acceleration, so I turn it off using the >
Control Panel > Sound and Audio Devices > Audio Tab > Advanced Sound Playback Button > Performance > Bring Hardware Acceleration right down.
You can also do it using card settings, but this works too. For me atleast.

same problem here, although i played eve with sound for the first time in 2 years when i visited my brother, was like a whole different game....

Nah, this can't be right. I'm pretty sure Eve is just brackets moving across a pretty background without any sounds. Why would brackets be animated?

I used to have sound in my Eve back in Castor.
Havent heard any since though...im sure its a scam.
