It's time, CCP.
The UI needs to show, in some way, the time remaining until a module's next cycle. Any active module.
Personally I think the little rotational clock faces (ubiquitous in a certain other mmo) are silly. Progress bars, or perhaps numerical counters that include 1/10ths of a second, would be more fitting of the overall EVE style.
Thoughts, anybody? |

As long as it doesn't cause any additional client lag, I don't see why not. Make it an option to turn it on or off, of course.
I still say the game needs something in the UI to let you know what's being done to you at any given time. Be it a shield rep by a teammate or a webbing by someone you're fighting, it'd be nice to have a bar of little icons that indicate what is actively being done to you by someone. The text notification and visual indicator we get right now are sometimes not enough in a big furball.
Maybe make the icons control-clickable to let you lock the person who's doing something in particular (say a warp scrambler).
Anyway that's just an aside, I don't mean to hijack. :)

Edited by: Rustimon on 10/04/2007 15:09:24 I think that if they could have done it already they would have. I would assume something in the code is holding them up and that the cycle timers might be something they include in the new graphics engine.

cycle timers would be AWESOME for when I am using missles (10 sec cycle time) and have to switch targets, since it has to complete its current cycle before I can use it again. And it is very annoying when the previous target is dead, which does nothing but waste time.
I find myself turning off my missle launchers early to work around this issue, but then sometimes the current target doesn't explode when I expect them to...
