Edited by: Mynas Atoch on 12/04/2007 18:27:29 The key Fade refinery system of C4C has been taken by the Alliance. After a number of heroic efforts, including one battle where the defenders fielded 4 Motherships, 17 Carriers, 11 Dreadnaughts and 140 conventional ships, The Coalition was forced back on the age old technique of anchoring new towers. Shortly after downtime today, the last of these towers was destroyed. A commemerative screenshot was taken by one of the Alliance pilots present.

Could you elaborate on that point for the intellectually challenged here? I'm not sure if I grasp the difference between the two so readily -----

I don't know what that means either. Eisenhower was a 5 star General, as he was the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces (aka President). Patton was merely a 3 star.
I think what he means though is: Patton kicked ass, Eisenhower didn't kick as much. _______________________________________________

Well I don't mean to derail but I was just genuinely interested. IIRC they both served on the European front, which Eisenhower was in command of. But I think Eisenhower was really the second choice for the position; first would've been Marshall but he had to stay at home because Roosevelt needed him close as an advisor in Washington or something...
Anyway I suppose 3-star generals lead from a forward position while a 5-star is more liable to stay back and make grand plans without coming much into contact with the enemy. -----

I'm pretty sure Patton got a 4th star right before his death in 1945. I am too lazy to check though. --------------

both patton and eisenhower held 4 star ranks at some point of their careers.
I think guy above was correct, patton only achieved 4 star towards the end of his career. Eisenhower however continued past that to be one of the few 5 stars ever appointed (and later presidency)
basically Patton went most of the war bouncing around between a 1, 2 or 3 star. Eisenhower always out ranked him and went most the war as a 3 or 4 star

Couple things:
1, a 5 star general isn't the CiC, it's the General he appoints as the head of military operations during a war (second to the CiC), which Eisenhower was at one point, I don't recall Patton ever being placed in that position.
Also, Eisenhower owns Patton.
