So today I find a can floating around. It's bait of course but I grab it anyway out of boredom. In comes the pilot (surprise). He locks me and starts to fire. He's in a Drake, me in a Geddon. I start to get into his hull and warps out. Forgot the Scram. Anyway I warp to station, refit a scram, and undock. He's outside and starts to blast away again. This time I got him and he ain't leaving. I would have loved to see the look on his face. Anyhow I lock his pod but get a Concord warning. Why!!?? He is the one that started the shooting. I can't take his pod or maybe a little isk for his freedom? Let me know. I am just learning. Thx.

his ship commited the act of aggression, not his pod.

Thx Laz. I understand the reason now. Its just a rule, right? !But sry ,his ship aggressed me not his pod?? To my knowledge my ship has never done anything, other than explode now and then, that I (the pod) did not ask it to do .Oh well. At least now I know.

2bh that sounds a bit silly if they aggro then their pod should be able to be popped, the pod controls the ship after all...

If you want to pod in highsec without to much loss, get a incursus with a gank fit, or maybe a dessie with a ton of smartbombs, that should get the job done =P

Can't detonate smartbombs within range of the station remember...
Just fit a ship that can one-shot his pod.

Because think about it for a minute, you're the criminal here. you've just stolen his things from his precious can. He decides to take revenge by attacking the dirty scum bag thief. Now the law allows you to defend yourself but naturally they are not going to let you commit murder after your filthy theft.
you should be ashamed of yourself

I have to say I have been podded in high sec by someone I had aggression on, so I am not too clear on the rules here. (And he didnĘt lose his ship)And no I was not at war with him...not until a couple weeks latter anyway.

The OP is the agressor though for "stealing" the bait from the can. The person who lost his ship was only trying to defend himself, hence Concord helping out! |

you were either neg 5 at the time or you're mistaken i'm afraid. no way of podding someone in high sec unless they are -5, war target, or you lose ur ship for doing it.

Well, I AM ashamed of myself. I am going Carebear tomorrow (or the next day). But I am not a dirty scum bag thief, just a dirty thief. In a few weeks I will master the scum bag part I hope.
Anyhow, thanks for the good info. Still I think once the 2 of us decide to fight, it should be up to us and not Concord if one of us reverts to Clonedom. Thats just my 2 cents and as usual thats all its worth. Thx again!
(oh and thanks for calling me a criminal.Thats the nicest thing I've heard all day)

I must disagree as well. If you think that this is possible then give it a try, and see if you get to keep your ship...

If you mouse over the Kill Rights tab in the Character Sheet, there's a message that explains it. The important part of it would be "When you blow up his ship, you have gotten your revenge. Pod killing is never allowed and not supported under the kill rights system."
I'm not exactly big on pvp, but I assume that's how it's supposed to work. |
