Greetings,
I am curious: what's the most likely explanation(s) for multiple wrecks named 'Playername's Newbieship Wreck' floating about outside a starter station? Is it common for people to shoot at newbies for fun? No one has bothered me yet (famous last words)...

The most likely explanation is a player running suicide-attacks using newbie ships, and later getting the said ships blown up by CONCORD. -------------

I would think that its actually the aggressors who are the wrecks and happened to find out what CONCORD's job is to do first hand. That, or they are finding the self-destruct button for the first time.

Or some noob got themselves flagged as a criminal somehow, docked their pod in the station, undocked in their rookie ship before the aggression timer counted down, and got popped by the station's sentry guns.

90% chance of that a couple times
but sometimes people drop cargo containers in the newbie areas. Then when a newbie walks by and steals from container they pod them. It's rare for it to happen outside stations, But more likely then not it was what he said because these baiters usually do thier work in the deadspace areas. ______________________

If it is the cargo container, depending on the name, it may be petitionable. If it just says "Cargo Container" or some random name, oh well. If they name the can something like "Free stuff for noobs" and then shoot the takers, it's a potentially bannable offense.

I did see one named something like 'Take this can' somewhen in my first few days, outside my starter station. Happily I had already read enough here that I knew it would be a bad idea to touch it. A small clarification here, they do not pod them, they pop them, they blow up their ships. the only time you can pod somone in highsec without getting concordokkend is when at war.
And to further the info on this, to bait newbies like this in newbie systems is a petitionable offence.
