Dear See and Pee,
Firstly a hearty Christmas hello to all you groggy dastardly scoundrels
I have a question and wondered if you'd be able to help me answer it, or indeed have any experience of doing it and how feasible it is. So here goes;
Is it feasible to disrupt high sec incursions using cheap frigates and ECM bursts? What's the likelihood of success? Does anyone have any experience of this and/or care to share tactics?
I was thinking that as most logi's tend to orbit a central container a cheap frig with an ecm burst, sig distortion amp plus some jammers might do the trick. I don't know if this would be enough to break the logi's lock on their rep targets and if it would work.
I would assume that you'd only need to rattle 1 logi pilot and get him to warp, at which point the remaining logi's would be under more stress and threatening to detonate the ECM may cause them to warp too.
If it's not feasible, then I wonder how far threats would rattle people and how much disruption this would cause in itself?

This person has a bit of experience doing ECM, though not with frigates. You should give them a buzz. |

We've done a bit of it, but never to the extent that we did aggro transfer. I think Slimy Worm knows it pretty well. ECM bursts are good, blackbirds are better. They'll learn fast to scatter the logis enough that a burst won't shut them all down, and a blackbird should be able to keep them jammed longer.
If you really want to disrupt incursions, get a few people with alts they can afford to idle and park blackbirds at every vanguard accel gate. the bluff will only hold for so long, so you'll need to occasionally jam out a fleet and watch them burn to be sure they stay sufficiently frightened. With enough peopleinvolved, highsec vanguard farming could be brought to a crawl.
I have blackbird alts planned, just need to wrap up some other stuff first.

Maximum damage can be done to an Incursion this way:
When the Sansha mom appears, get a team together and kill it.
They are letting the mom sit for days while grinding away at sites.
Kill it, and that grinding comes to an end.

That is one option. but requires a lot of people and gives little pay out for the party involved.
I haven't yet griefed anyone in incursions. But my history working for Security companies has given me insight into defense of attacks.
If I was going to grief an incursion fleet, I'd have one stooge or "inside man" that joins a party and plays and has fun with them for a few hours... After a while he makes an excuse to get more ammo or fresh drones, he quickly can flips an accomplice in system with a fleet of ECM and logi... Then the Insider returns to the group and as soon as he can he broadcasts for reps. (if he's got some aggro on him already he doesn't need to do this)
Then you blow horn for your comrads to warp. The best time possible to do this would be near the end of the second wave in an OTA, the Tama on the field as well as Auga and at least 1 deltole should mean multiple members scrammed.
This should work a couple times before your stooge gets rumbled, but best thing is you can simply rinse him out and bring out another alt. (Training DPS alts shouldn't take long. you can lie about your fittings for most fleets so they believe you to be higher on DPS than you state)
Note: the Aggro for someone with a can flip does not prompt a warning like the war dec or criminal flagging (unless this has been changed recently) |

Too much effort for small bands to do efficiently... Also means you don't get to farm T2 and Faction hulls for tasty mods. |

Except that another incursion will pop up elsewhere. If you can stop the farming AND keep the incursion where it is, that's maximum damage.

Ayyy meh fellow pirates! Griefing incursion runners brings us tears and puts a smile upon our faces It has to be done in a group however and the more the merrier. 9 blackbird pilots will (when done efficiently) kill a couple of faction battleships and you will even have enough isk from loot drops to get another 50 fully fitted blackbirds. The security penalty isn't even too tough.
Second option is indeed to kill the mothership. Form up off grid, move to the HQ system in groups of 10 to not alert the bears and then go do it. You won't need more than 40 people to grief several thousand incursion runners. Oh jolly joy! |

This is what I'm talking about. I don't wanna kill the mom and deny them their isk - I wanna bring them tears, cost them isk and watch their tasty faction ships assplode, laugh, grab the loot and salvage their wrecks.

Ayyy, you be welcome! 6 pre-overloaded racial ECM will jam almost any logi. Put a ton of blackbirds nicknamed "basilisk" and "scimitar" (according to what james they have) in station and have your scout find an appropriate fleet. Good luck o7 |

Is there a channel we could put together for this? My main is -10, but I'd be happy to bring a few alts in to high sec just to pop the MOM and wind up some incursion bears. |

I shall be putting a channel and corp together for this in the next day or so.
The intended plan is to broadcast the location of some of the big incursions and bring reinforcements in to disrupt them as much as possible - or even ransom the incursion for lolz, although I doubt they'll ever agree to it but it will certainly cause tears.
When we have enough people at enough incursion sites it should start to take off. So far we have seen isolated pockets and individuals taking the matters bravely into their own hands. Well guess what, Incursions just got what Suddenly Ninja's did to salvage and missions.
I would like to say this is primarily an opportunity to disrupt the incursions, failing that then logi jamming will be the order of the day since the sec status hit is minimal (ship aggression hit only) so anyone who's bored or wants to cause some bear pain to their fat over-bloated wallets and ridiculous pimped ships which rarely leave hangar is welcome to join.
There may be phat phaction lewtz when their fleet goes boom as the logi's are jammed - bring a salvager
Why am I doing this? Well frankly I think incursions offer too much isk for too little risk, and these fat bears sit there grinding the sites and leaving the mom up which as someone said earlier is kinda game breaking. Think of me as simply trying to level the playing field a bit. I've played EVE for a long time, and I remember when you had to earn your isk and not have it handed over to you on a platter.
Incursions have made EVE into "WoW in space" and personally, I think that sucks, badly. Since this is a sandbox it's my right, and those of a like mind to disrupt these "space raiders" by ECM ganking their "healers" and brining their pharming to a halt!
Yes, I'm an *******. Join me or deal with it!

Corp also set up for those really wanting to make a hobby of it with their alts and strike fear into the hearts of the ISK and shiny collectors. Nothing like having a load of negative standing blackbirds appear in your site ;) Should be able to accept apps in the next day once my nub alt has sufficient social skills (oops, knew I shouldn't have been peeing in the sink all those years)

Butthurt much? Not to rain on your parade but you're complaining and coming up with a plan where the goal is to hurt the "rich carebears". Yeah you may get some tears, but ppl will continue doing it and replace whatever minimal loss you can inflict on these people. I simply recommend instead of being a hater go have some fun, make tons of isk in 1 day of incursions, then go blow that money on PVP ships in 0.0 It makes the game more fun and less of a darn job just to have fun. I have nothing wrong with griefing & I love carebear tears as much as the next guy. I just don't see the point of taking on a task that you outline here. Think profit vs time invested, etc. If you can't find fun anywhere else in the game then go for it, but there are much more interesting things to do / kill / humiliate in this game. |

63 x 3 x 2 = 378-567 m isk + enormous amount of tears.

Also, when you "worked hard for your isk" ratting in 0.0 did you never chain rats? I suppose you are also proposing that chaining rats is game breaking because it allows you to "dupe" a spawn simply by waiting for them to come back?
This guy farms incursion all day long and is scared. Our alliance has been discussing about incursion disruption and we are about to carry on with it. Please stay safe |
