When you're Alpha Clone and you want certain module fit to the ship requiring Omega skills, there is no other option than stripping it full. Okay, it's not a big deal, just minor annoyance, but also I believe that the fix should be simple:
Allow Alpha Clone boarding *any* ship in station. Undocking in such and boarding in space should still be verbotten.
Good or bad idea? Is it exploitable? |

Have you tried the bulk-fit/multi-fit option in the fitting simulator? I haven't tried it with Alpha clones but it will let you fit ships you don't have the skills to fly. Ships must be packaged and all modules must be in your hangar. |

I meant something opposite. At the time of this writing I'm Omega but while I was Alpha I had a handful of ships I could not use but they in turn had some modules which could be put to those ships I could fly. So I thought, why not allowing boarding this ship, removing those modules you want but leaving others, so the fittings would be a little canibalized but still in good shape?
Whe you think about it, there are two levels of this permission, actually:
1. Allow boarding ships you would be allowed to board were you Omega. The is the main topic of this thread.
2. Allow boarding ANY ship, whether do you have skill or not. With the restrictions stated in OP I see no downside to it, but I will not fight nails and teeth to defend this idea. |

I actually like this idea, but not for the reason you said. If alphas can board any ship (and obviously not undock or use it) it would give them a taste of what they could do when subscribed. It might bring more people into the game. |
