Right, i finally got my Large blaster spec installed in my skill sheet, now the big question is, should i go for a megathron or the hyperion?
I've been thinking over it and i can't decide which one to choose, i've been thinking on some setups to each of them:
Mega:
7 x Neutron II,
Named MWD, med injecter with 800 sized charges, web, scram,
Large repper II, 1600mm plate, 2 x EANM II, named DC, 2 x damage mods
Mostlikely going to see on rigs so i can fit a heavy booster and a dual tank instead of the 1600mm
Hype:
8x Ion TII
100MN MWD TII, Heavy cap booster TII, Named med booster , scram, web
2xLarge reps 2x EANM's TII, 1xDCU, 1xwhatever
1x grid rig, 2x rep rigs
But, what should i choose?

before people start typing in and sayin the megathron does more damage...it doesnt....its only theoretical..as its assumin that the extra tracking bonus will give u a better hit everytime.
adding a tracking comp or 2 can help compensate for the hyperions lack of tracking bonus....and tbh..i prefer the extra blaster guun over the extra heavy drone.
i guess its all about preference. i prefer the hyperion! its one of the best lookin ships in the game! and that armour rep bonus means that u can get a decent tank out of it while still having a decent dps setup.
plus....the hyperions quicker speed is quite helpful wen using a blaster setup as you can close the enemy down quicker.....that said tho...start fiting armour rigs and plating..and that ship turns into a giant brick pretty fast!

Its all preference since they are very similar ships - personally, megathron ftw, since the beggining to now!

Well... I have used both and I think both are great, though they are a pain in the wallet to fit them properly.
Tbh megathrons don't make me cry as much as hyperions when I finally loose one.

2x Mag stabs ss
1x Damage control
5 T2 heavy drones
repping amount rigs are nice
all fits with awu lvl 5 and some of the mods you need the low req's fitting type to get it all in.

It depends on what you want to do, Solo or Gang? Imho the hyperion is the better solo ship, it tanks and ganks and can take on multiple BS solo. For gangs, i would say the megathron is the better ship due to it dealing more damage and that if your in a gang ganking single targets your not going to need to tank. If your called primary in a gang fight your gonna die anyway, the extra hp on the hyperion will just slow your death.

Been flying the mega for about 3 years now, with a close range setup mostly. I gave the hyperion a try when it arrived but found it disappointing in tanking capabilities. Maybe it's simply not the ship but my playstyle, as I prefer damage over tanking.
The Hyperion undoubtedly has its uses, but I'll take my Megathron with Neutrons anyday.
Besides, the Hyperion looks like a turd

I can see why you prefer the Mega (I think I do, too), but if you found the Hyp disappointing in tank, then you must have fitted it very badly, it can do some insane tanking 
In fact, I killed a T2 neutron-gank-megathron on SiSi in a Hyperion, no faction equip.

Ummm, isn't it the Dominix that look like a turd? Or rather, a turd on a shiny metal plate? Such a shame, since it is the only battleship-class droneboat ...

My setup was alright, I just thought that in the engagement I used it in it would last a little longer  Anyway, maybe I should give it another go sometime.
As for looks, all a matter of taste I think, I actually think the dominix is not-that-bad-looking

Both. No self respecting blaster pilot should be missing a pure gank neutron mega or a tanktastic ion hyperion.
Different tools for different jobs imho.

I'm a Domi pilot, but honestly, if i had to choose between a Hyperion or a Megathron; I'd choose the Mega, simply because I could afford to replace it.
