it's totally possible to kill a ship without getting a tackle on it. A nice bit of bumping and smart use of a web can prevent them entering warp.
Although people want to nurf bumping, which would render 0.0 almost completely riskless to those who don't want to die and fit a whole load of WCS, a shield tank, and an mwd aslong as they don't run into an insta popping fleet. ------------------------------------- if i'm not posting about tactics or lag, don't take my posts seriously! |

fit 2 or 3 scrams.
If someone has filed their lowslots with wcs they are at a huge disadvantage. Using up a few of your slots won't change that.

1. Get ship with lots of mid slots 2. Fit 4 webs and X sensor boosters 3. Fill lowslots with sensor augmentations 4. Wait for dude 5. Profit!
4 webs will make any ship larger than an inty take several minutes to align. If you and a gank squad can't all get enough points on him or pound him to death in that time, then you should just die. <sig> IBTL! IBDS! IBTC! 1st in a BoB Post! And other such forum tom-foolery. Join my Corporation! |

lol smackalishess.
people use WCS in empire too :p
i'm a 0.0 vet, but i don't play enough now to want to keep all of my stuff in a conq stations incase i come back on one day to find myself with stuck in a station unable to escape with my 5 battleships and numerous other ships. So i'm retiring to empire.
as for some examples of killing people who i'm unable to scramble because i only have 1 point:
i've bumped numerous haulers away from gates as they just warp in and then kill them by rebumping and webbing to reduce their rate of reallignment. and me and bold (it was mostly bold) killed a raven that had 5 WCS fitted and was perfectly tanked against kinetic/thermal (our only damage types except for 5 explosive drones, but explosive resistance isn't too weak with shields by default)
PS - bumping people into asteroids = win ------------------------------------- if i'm not posting about tactics or lag, don't take my posts seriously! |

No, seriously,, wtf? You want to nerf WCS more? Y'know, that's like digging up grandma's bones and,, well,, yeah,,
Before the WCS nerf, I used to fit two stabs in missions, and completely stab-out my indies. The nerf made it completely useless to fit them for mish, but i didn't care so much, I did what everyone *should* do and adapt. But I still fit stabs to my indies, and why? because it's a non-combat ship.
The warp core stab nerf already takes you out of any PvP, which I appreciate is a good thing,, fit to fight not run away. But when I'm in my indy I fit to run away (pretty damn obvious I would've thought)
Oh god, whats that? You need more than one tackler to take em down? Heaven forbid, because a T1 indy is *so* hard to take down if while it's aligning for warp??? wtf are you smoking? If you cant instapop one of those with two BS you dont deserve to call yourself a pirate.
Now, as for transport ships, I bloody well hope that my T2 transport which cost me over twice the cost of an intie can shrug off a tackler or two. One transport is designed for quick alignment with the +2 warp bonus, while the other is either A) a heavy lifter requiring escorts or B) An armoured, EW protected beast.
A small gate gang (2-3) *should* be avoidable by kitting out a T1 indy correctly. A gang of 5-7 should be avoidable by a properly kitted transport ship. If you're in a gang of 5+ and *dont* have at least two tacklers you need to get a freaking clue, because outrunning and fighting off gatecamps is a helluva lot trickier than clicking 'orbit 500m, warp scramble' against a defenseless ship.
As for "yeah get rid of stabs, once bumping is nerfed (which i think would be a stupid nerf anyway) 0.0 will be completely safe",, I take it you've never heard of a warp disruption bubble?
Y'know, next suggestion I'm waiting for is a module which jettisons your targets cargo so you can scoop and let them go home in their indy to hasten their next trip into low sec.

Sure about the webbers ? Ok, might work, if the ship isn't already aligned into the right direction, because then turning speed can become quite low, if your actual speed is above max-speed ( same can be experienced, if you are full-speed aligned into the wrong direction with AB/mwd and turn it of. Then alignment is really slow )
But otherwise webber on target that's moving into the right direction = insta-warp. Last time I made a mistake with my viator and cloaked accidently, when I tried to run from a hostile gang. They managed to decloak me with drones, but I got the webbers of a hostile huggin or rapier on me. I was very thankful for the insta-warp. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

Aww boohoo, did one of INFOD's precious targets get away?
Seriously, man, I'm a pirate and I hate WCS as much as the next guy, but the point of having them is so that you don't have to train up T2 haulers to come into lowsec, and you can get away with a fat ship if there's a gate camp.
Today I flew a Prophecy back to base with 6 stabs on it. Why? Because I had no reason to fit anything else, I was bringing it ratting somewhere other than where I bought it. What do you expect me to do, hope that there's no camp anywhere on the route I'm taking?
Fact of the matter is your gank fleet missed a ship because it was stabbed up and now you're *****ing about it. Honestly, you're supposed to be a ******* pirate. Adapt or die is what we do, it's what makes us different than carebears who whine for change.
WCS is nerfed enough as it is. Please don't try to tell me that you can't get 4 or more tacklers from your entire bloody corp, considering you've often got 20 or so sitting on a gate, all in BS and BC. Find a solution and stop complaining.

We inferred it for your own sake, you're *****ing about stabs, at least if you had lost a ship at a gate you'd have a REASON to sound like an absolute carebear-of-a-pirate.
But if you're saying you didn't, then what does that say about you?
And that begs the question why do you care about stabs?

Have you even read the OP, i didnt ask for anyone's advice nor do i need any and dont need words put in my mouth.
"EvE has no use for stabs. There are T2 haulers with +2 built in that with mod's can haul a heck of a lot. Freighters Haul anything you want, they are obviously designed to be escorted if your travelling through hostile territoy. If you cant afford or use a T2 hauler then you shouldnt be in low-sec or .0, and if your in an obelisk travelling through without an escort or atleast a scout then you need to get a check-up."
This is the topic... not 'how do i catch someone with stabs on' or 'omg i lost a target'
It says in short:
Stabs have no use because there are ships proviced to haul for you, you can either train and buy one your self or you could hire one or now you can even use contracts. If you dont like what i have to say and you must reply then dont flame, give me and argument related to the content i posted and dont go off topic

They've already been nerfed. As it stands now, ships that want to fight can't fit them because it is like having someone permanently sensor dampening you. Ships that don't want to fight *should* have a way of getting away with more ease than a combat fitted ship.

Quote: Everyone has there own nerf thread and i dont, well not anymore!
I understand that with your insecurities you may feel the need to brush this off as just playing along with the crowd, but let's face it, you're clearly upset. "No I'm not" you say? Then explain this:
Quote: I know stabs have been nerfed pretty harsh but tbh every farmer and his dog is fitting one and it frustrates the hell outta me.
Right here you've stated that you're upset, maybe not from something that just happened but clearly you tell us that you are bothered by this.
Quote: EvE has no use for stabs. There are T2 haulers with +2 built in that with mod's can haul a heck of a lot.
And we can all afford to train for one or hire one whenever we need something moved, which as a pirate you ought to know can be quite often.
Quote: Freighters Haul anything you want, they are obviously designed to be escorted if your travelling through hostile territoy.
Yeah I've got a personal freighter pilot who awaits phone calls from me. Again, we can't all call up a freighter with the snap of a finger, and sometimes we need to move a big ship and move it NOW. So this isn't always an option.
Quote: If you cant afford or use a T2 hauler then you shouldnt be in low-sec or .0,
I see you support WoW-style grinding then? If you can't deal with your angst about stabs then perhaps you shouldn't be in lowsec trying to kill people who might have them.
Quote: and if your in an obelisk travelling through without an escort or atleast a scout then you need to get a check-up.
This I agree with.
Quote: *Puts on golden suit from sunshine film*
I don't know what you're referring to but this looks to me like you were fully expecting flames, and consequently you only prove someone's point by reacting so righteously when he calls you an idiot.
You want an argument? Alright, here you go:
People should not have to train T2 or grind for millions of isk before moving to low sec. What you are saying encourages even more people to live in high sec and consequently means less targets for you anyway. Warp core stabs, as you said, have already had their nerf. It was quite enough, they have a purpose to fulfill in the game that should not be replaced exclusively by later-game features. They are meant for people to be able to escape from being warp scrambled, they already gimp a setup for anything except travel. There is no reason to nerf them anymore or remove them except for pirates who would have an easier time without them.
Now go back to your gate camp they'll need your extra 400 dps of firepower to kill the frigate that's coming through.

Alright Mr psychologist, were did i say i was upset? Im bothered by it a bit but not upset, i just felt the need to discuss the current state of WCS even if they have had a nerf already.
Quote: And we can all afford to train for one or hire one whenever we need something moved, which as a pirate you ought to know can be quite often.
Well you know, set up a courier contract for just a few mill and theres always someone that deliveres it, some make there isk this way, for cheap. You can fit alot of mods in a frigate with a couple expanded cargo holds, more than enough to fit a few battleships.

If a ship is required for back-up so urgently and you need to fit stabs to assist then your not gonna make it anyway. You would have to un-fit, travel, fit, undock... Com'on. Your gang mate doesnt ask you to help him out when your 20 jumps away.

Not what I was talking about. I had to bring that prophecy to where I wanted it right away in order to accomplish what I wanted to do, that being earning some isk by ratting instead of fruitlessly pirating just after downtime. If I had set up a courier contract it could have taken a lot more time than it did, days or even a couple weeks perhaps (or it would just expire). So I had the choice to either go get it myself and start off what I was doing or pay someone else to bring it at their leisure.

Why would you make a post about how WCS need to be nerfed or, better yet removed, if you could deal with it? I don't honestly believe you thought to yourself "I think it'd be nice to have a discourse with my fellow community members about the ramifications of warp core stabilizers." I believe that you are bothered enough that you wanted to vent/push for change/get attention on the forum about your issue with WCS.
And if you think people should have to grind up for isk to afford a personal low-sec freighter service, or train up to do it themselves, that is supporting WoW-style grinding right there. Force them to push their way to the "top gear" level of play because if they don't they have to play missions in high sec? Tell me how that is Eve at all.

Then I must ask my implied question, why would you post something expecting flames and then tell people that flaming was unnecessary as if you didn't expect it? If you post flamebait, don't be or pretend to be offended when you catch.
And what was that a reference to anyway?
