Purchased one at the weekend with a C2D E6400.
Motherboard would only POST 1/5 of the time. Rest of the time it would just sit there with fans spinning.
Noted that the BIOS version installed didn't officially support the stepping of processor I had (L2, not B2); so used ASUS tool to download and flash the BIOS.
Went for a reboot, now it doesn't POST at all.

check these first:
1) is your PSU the correct one to the system? Maybe you need a PSU with higher power or maybe the PSU is a bit old and they start to loose efficiency with time.
2) check your ram sticks. maybe the problem is there.
3) badly connected cable?
after all these steps have been done, then you can jump into the 4th step that is to blame the mobo. -------

Tried some Crucial ValueRam and some similar Corsair; 533/PC4200 DDR2. According to Crucial, their RAM will fit the board; and the Corsair isn't too dissimilar a spec.
PSU is a Seasonic S12 600W. I am aware that ASUS boards have some issues with Antec PSUs. I have a non-branded PSU I will check with tonight.
Might be cables I guess. The S12 could have a badly soldered joint; but it's unlikely. I will reseat all the cables again tonight and check.
I intend to pull everything out onto the kitchen table and try a minimal boot tonight with as little as possible on the board. If that fails then it;s an RMA job.

I don't own this board, but I do have the M32 SLI Deluxe with WIFI. Had the same problem. Took everthing home, put it all together, power on, no post. I picked up 1 gig of ddr2 ram, 2 sticks of 512. Took 1 stick out, still wouldn't work. Pulled the next one and put the first 1 back in, WALLA!!. Store had no problem replacing.

these boards are really fussy about buffered and unbuffered ram i think. I cant remember now which it will take though.

Edited by: FireFoxx80 on 16/04/2007 15:52:12 Thing is, it booted 20-30 times fine on Saturday and Sunday morning when I was installing Windows, etc. I get home from a BBQ and it fails to boot a few times, finally boots so I can update BIOS on it, then dead machine.
So I don't think components are to blame as it wouldn't boot at all then.

Back it goes...
Tested PSU, Memory, Graphics, HDD all in another system last night with no problems. Which leaves Mobo or CPU.
Returned both of them, courier arrives tomorrow.
