Hi,
I have just Downloaded Evemon, but I can't seem to add a character... when I fill in my log-in details, it tells me that there is no character found on that account!!! The details are definately correct!
Please Help!

I got the same problem, been using Evemon for ages, but am now getting errors like that and my character are cached.

The character sheet on eve-online.com is currently disabled. EVEMon gets its data from there, so...
You'll have to wait until the devs re-enable it.

I don't know this for a fact but I suspect it has something to do with the fact that the My Character link over <--- there is disabled.

Riddle me this, EveMon works fine from my office, and I can see my character sheet, but from home I can do neither.
What gives?

ETA on the "My Character" character sheet on eve-online.com to be back up is Monday (tenativley).
There is a sticky up with this right now (forget the link though).
The reason why you see it at work but can't do it at home is because you have your EVE character on your EVE MON at work cached. It still isn't able to connect (your work one) because the character sheet on eve-online.com is down.
And you can't add a new one at home because of this.
So basically if you already had a character loaded you can still play around with it, but it won't update your skills to the newest skills until the character sheet on eve-online.com is fixed.

I'm afraid that it is NOT cached!
I have changed the skill being trained over the last several days, and EveMon is 100% up to date on my character's status as of right now, on my office computer.

Its not possible, EveMon cannot get the file, because the system doesn't reply to its requests.
Your are mistaken, no amount of saying "no I am not mistaken" is going to change the fact the system is down and EveMon cannot download the xml file for your character.

I have a strange problem with EvE-Mon in that it's out of sync with the EvE clock by 5 minutes.
i.e. When EvE-Mon tells me a skill has completed... it actually completed 5 minutes ago!
Not a big deal really, but annoying none the less. :S

Most likely the proxyserver at your work giving you the page instead of the eve server.

People the interent is a strange lifeform, sometimes people will see stuff that isn't possible, but its still not possible.
Its called really really old cache, the charactersheet is disabled, its physicaly immpossible to get your current character information.

You showing us a screenshot of the cache your isp is displaying to you won't prove anything.
Its immpossible for you to view the CORRECT character sheet because its down.

well... the site seems to working now... but evemon isn takeing info from it... mybe they changed something in the XML or on the site :P will have to wait and see what the evemon devs have to say :)

The HTML on the "My Character" page works... BUT... the XML page/file, it only works for SOME users right now, the rest get a blank XML.
They said it will "start" gradually, (approximately) every hour a (relatively) random 5% of the XML user data will be re-enabled.
So expect EVE-Mon to start working for most users in a few hours.
Also, the XML file "served" will not be an up-to-date XML (latest skill in training, etc) but will be cached for 6/12 hours or even more. A separate (much shorter, and a lot faster updating) XML file will be served, containing only current skill in training.
This means EVE-Mon will have to release a new version to properly track skill changes, but it will track them better as it used to (used to be every hour only, now it will be every 15 minutes or so), but it will need to remain "online" for as long as you are online, to track shorter/multiple skillchanges meanwhile (as the "main" page only updates, as mentioned every 6+ hours or so).

Read the thread, the entire point of the downtime was to change the server, to provide more percise data for characters also which allows them to be updated more often.
Of course the old style will still be updated, but only every 6 hours, to reduce load on the server.

The problem Im getting is that when I add my character (I just reinstalled evemon), by using the xml from the character sheet, evemon crashes instantainously.
Any ideas?
Edit: I realized that the xml sheet was blank, thats why evemon got confused :S

They are slowing allowing people to download their characters data within a 24 period, so keep trying every couple hours.

Well, my one at work won't update any of the chars, my one at home seems to update 1 of them fine, just not the other ones.

All characters aren't available yet. Sometime today, probably right after the patch.
Also note that you might have to restart EVEMon. Before I restarted, neither of my three chars worked (they all showed as "(cached)"). After restarting, they all worked just fine.
