Question: assuming support skills are even, which ship does more damage: A T2 rail "Snarpy" or a Caracal with T2 heavy launchers?
Assume cruiser size and below targets...
anyone have any idea?
thanks!

Go download Quickfit and set the support skills and run a damage sim from each ship on the same target. -=^=-

I'm at work, and can't download or run programs.
I was hoping somebody knew off the top of their head from previous research with that program.

What the hell is a snarpy ?
And also, I would tend to say the heavy missile, because they are far more situation where the heavy missile can deal optimum damage. ----

Just a guess, but a Sniper Harpy?

hmmmmmm...
It's a tough question, because you're comparing a gun-oriented assault frigate with a t1 missile boat. While the t2 modules will help, what really matters is what kind of ammo (hybrid charges for the harpy, heavy missiles for the cara) you load. A harpy loaded with spike charges will probably hold its own against a cara loaded with t1 heavy missiles (especially if those missiles are widowmakers, since the harpy has really good thermal resists). However, if the cara was loaded with t2 heavy precision missiles or high damage missiles(which are really expensive), then the cara would have a higher dps.
Then there is the problem of sig radius. A cara is a missile boat, and so sig radius comes in to play. Basically, if you're in a cara and you're firing t1 heavy missiles at a frigate (any frigate), your t1 missiles will not do as much damage to the frigate as they would to a cruiser because the frigate's signature radius is much smaller. There are a few ways to attempt to correct this problem, but within the context of this post the only way to correct this would be to use t2 heavy precision missiles (which, as I said before, are really expensive).

Probably the Caracal with T2 Heavy Missiles, back of the hand estimate.
