What is the secret to raising your standing with a corp in any kind of reasonable time span?
I've run about a dozen missions for one particular npc corporation, but still only have a standing of 0.27. Seems like at this rate I'll need to run at least 50 missions to reach the standing I need to access the level 2 agents.
The level 1 missions have become way too easy and tedious and I'm ready to move on. Is there a better way?

Look at the various social skills. They are (relatively) quick to train and make a big difference to your standings. I cant remember which specific ones are best, but by reading the description you should be able to get the idea. -=^=-

Thanks.
So assuming I get Connections trained up, then mission running is the best way to increase standing? From everything I've read, sounds like that's true.

I had the same issue :) I trained up my connections skill to L3 and it raised my standings significantly just for training the skill (not running missions while training it). I haven't run too many missions since I've upped the skill but the few I have run its gone up another .25. So L2 missions are coming closer MUCH MUCH quicker now. There are other social skills that help as well but I cant remember them ----------------------------------------- Don't submit to stupid rules Be yourself and not a fool Don't accept average habits Open your heart and push the limits |

Training the Connections skill will help right enough.
The quality of the agent(s) you work for seems to affect standing gain a little too - the higher the better - though I've never actually conducted an experiment so that's just hearsay
Low Quality L2 agents are easier to get to use than high Quality ones and give better rewards than high Quality L1 agents.
Rewards, bonus and lp's are affected by the Security rating of the system the agent is located in too - lower the better this time.
The Negotiation skill ups the pay rate from agents as well.
Finally, doing storyline missions raises your faction standing which slowly gives you access to most of the agents of that faction. Though some agents require personal or corp standings too.
Does that help?

As mentioned above, the quality of the agent is a factor. However, the security rating of the system where the agent is stationed also contributes. The lower the security rating, the higher the isk/points.
In short, try to find the highest quality agent in the lowest security system that you are willing to fly in.
Taking this into account, you will find that a good lvl 1 agent in a 0.5 system gives better isk/points than a poor lvl 2 agent in a 1.0 system.
Another way of getting better results for your time is to find a station with multiple agents that you can use. Get a mission from each of them, then complete them all together. That way you can combine routes and save some time. This works particularly well for courier missions.
Good luck.
