I was playing yesterday fine, log out, log back in an hour later and get this:
"Connection timeout - the server did not respond to the client's secure-handshake request within a reasonable amount of time."
Tried again this morning and same issue, however I can log in from work. My friend is having the exact same issue as well, started at the same time. Suggestions? (we are both in southern California)

Yeah I am on Cox cable internet at home as well. Unable to log on since last night and this morning was borked as well. I don't have access to another ISP to test.

Same problem, same location, same ISP. Reset the router, and still doesn't work for me.

Same here, from San Diego area and have Cox. A friend of mine is having the same problem. I wonder if it's Cox's problem.

Sure seems to be an issue with Cox. Same problem here. San Diego area. Tried to reset router, to no avail. Anyone been able to contact Cox on this one?

Not working, called COX and they've said that its down and that the company who runs CCP's server is taking responsibility for the California outages. ------

Edited by: Alpha Dog on 19/04/2007 22:45:42 same issue, tried connected straight to my modem, nothing. Tried different IPs nothing. COX in san diego CA doesn't cut it...
I finished at 7 AM PST lost time since then... need to change skill before 4/20 or i will lose too much training time.

Anything new? Still can't log.
If the previous point is right it's in CCP's hands now? You all checked with COX-CCP?
I only just now sent a petition to CCP thinking it would have been fixed by now.
Five hours training down the drain thus far, and I was so very good logging to switch until today. A shame.

I have not heard anything else, I am down 12 hours training on 2 chars tough I am wondering how many people are stuck in this rut here and is it only in San Diego?
If Cox says its on CCPs side... is someone over there looking into it? Devs... you have any info on this?

Anything on this yet? I know of at least a couple more players including myself that can't login. I couldn't even get into the forum earlier so at least that seems better, but from downtown (on a cox business connection) I couldn't connect to anything on eve-o except the front page as everything else was timing out.

Edited by: bonerboner on 20/04/2007 02:01:54 Edited by: bonerboner on 20/04/2007 02:01:08 I too have COX HSI. Have not been able to connect for about 24 hours. Reset my router and modem and tried strait to modem with no change. I ran a tracert to the IP the client was trying to connect to and about 9 or 10 hops away was showing about 199+ms latency when all the previous ones were 1-10ms. I'm assuming the routing between SoCal and the servers is poor right now.
I can't complain about COX though. I've never had any issues with anything until this event. Best HSI in town and I get it for $8.

I'm actually located up in Santa Barbara, but I have Cox as my ISP. So it's not just San Diego. My guess is any Cox customer in southern California is having this problem.

Somethings up with routers on major backbones. I'm in San Diego and I can get to Texas and New Jersey with excellent speeds, but Miami and New York City are deadpanning. Yes, San Diego business-class Cox service here.

Still no success. I'm just hopeful I can log before downtime (sleepy time) so I can set a skill. If I can't it's 24 hours at best with no training and that's going to be disappointing.

Sounds to my like a typical case of COX passing the buck onto CCP for a crappy downline connection. As someone already said - CCP is probably not at fault here.

I work for COX Communications and I can tell you right now we don't pass the buck for anything. If it's our bad we tell you. Unfortunately, I still can't log in.

We are not responsible for ISP issues.

We are not responsible for ISP issues and therefore will not be reinbursing lost time.
everyone in this thread appears to be using COX for an ISP, it's best you get in contact with them. currently i'm aware of no server issues.

It is quite funnty it works great for everyone but COX users so ofcourse it must be a CCP issue...
Fix your global peering to start with, either you or one of your peering partners screwed up.
If someone could post a traceroute to the Tranquility IP it shouldn't take long to pinpoint where the problem is.
Screw t3. I'm waiting for t20. Just like t2, but it's free. - xArmagedunx |

Edited by: bonerboner on 20/04/2007 10:38:41 I did a tracert yesterday and the massive latency started about 9 hops out. Didn't take a screenshot or anything though.
The problem resolved itself for me.

Of course you are not, you barely take responsibility for your own incompetence so you will certainly blame it on others. Since the problem directly corresponded with your down time I am sure it is Cox's fault and not your own. And if you want to avoid reimbursing us at least learn to spell the word.
p.s. it is just after down time again and the problem is back, good job CCP.
