After 4-5 months of PRVTR, people are still using PA to represent us.

PA =/= Privateer Alliance. I know it's the acronym, but learn your EVE history, people.
Whenever people use PA to represent PRVTR it makes me want to punch puppies.

sorry to burst your bubble but this is NOT a major game mechanic change. This is a minor change to a game mechanic that happens to affect Privateers in a major manner because they are abusing that mechanic.

In the old days, the game mechanics was "you can not declare war on more than 3 corporations, period".
So, as you can see, CCP first had to soften up the rules big time because otherwise your sorry *** couldn't accomplish **** all.

I wouldn't say that. Although heavily smacked for stabs, BE's standard issue Raven sniping tactics relied very little on escaping tacklers. Most tacklers would die before they even got within lock range. The stabs, when used, would only really help when moving from one system to another.

Actually OP is right (at least partially). IF one wants to measure Moo similarity by forcing CPP to change the game mechanics than Privateers are similar. There is no doubt they forced CCP to change wardec payments.
Question is how many changes Moo forced and if such measurement has any sense.

Both are gone, so in the end, it makes no difference.
I will say though, the PRIV. did add a fair bit of spice to the game for a lot of new players I'm sure - they probably felt a similar 'they are everywhere and nowhere at once' mystique that many of us felt when Mo0 was around.
So it is easy for a lot of us to laugh, but they were effective for the new generation of players - of course, laughing at them beccause you never visit empire makes your laughter void - but in the end - both are gone, so who cares.

m0o was a SINGLE corporation. Privateers are an ALLIANCE. with that in mind, we could use the simple equation "m0o > Privateers" or "Privateers = !m0o" or even the more appropriate "noobbrains > ollobrains". |

Please go back and view threads from 2003-2004 on pretty much any forum. You'll notice that about 25% of all forum threads in that period have the word m0o in them for one reason or another.
Privateers are not close, and nobody ever will be close. The game simply doesn't offer it any more.
