Edited by: sgtMaddness on 21/04/2007 20:07:40 I have 2 ships in another hanger 3 jumps from where I am calling home now. How can I get them to my current location? I would hate to have to jump 3 times to change my ship.
I have asked this question in game and someone said to create a contract to have them transported to me.
If this is how its done then, I was looking to see what this generally cost and if this a coming thing done in this game.
Thanks for your help, I have only playing for a week.

Edited by: Imperator Jora''h on 21/04/2007 20:31:39 Generally the best thing to do is buy a shuttle and go get your ship then fly back to your new home. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
Shuttles should cost no more than 9,000 ISK (often less but watch for scammers trying to rip you off) so are largely disposable ships. In time you will probably end up with dozens of them scattered far and wide. Once you pick up your ship you can put the shuttle back up for sale or trash it or keep it as you like. Usually shuttles are available in nearly every Empire station (usually). Feel free to check for all 4 race's shuttle to see what is available and at the bets price where you are (everyone can fly every race's shuttle from Day #1 so no need to worry about training anything for that).
You could also maybe use an industrial ship (hauler) to move your ships. Depends on the size of the ship you are moving and how big of a cargo hold your indy has but if it fits you can drag ships around that way too.
As for the contract thing you would setup a courier contract and specify a collateral amount that should be in line with what your stuff costs to replace should the courier just decide to keep it all. Some people may then pick up your contract and bring your stuff to you (likely a freighter could move it all in one go). Iffy though if anyone would pick it up but some might. I forget what people consider the going rate for courier missions...you might check a few available to get a sense of it (just do the math and figure the cost per jump to see if an average pops out at you).

People will galdly do it for you via the contract system, they will both easily fight in an industrial or freighter (depending on how big they are). It depends how much your time is worth.
I would estimate to move 2 ships 3 jumps each, it would take about 15 minutes if your time. If you can do missions and make 1 million ISK in 15 minutes.. then you should try and get someone to do it for 999,999,999 ISK or less. If it cost more than that to move, you are better off doing it yourself.
To be honest, if you are a new player, your time is not worth that much per minute.. I would just spend the 15 minutes and do it yourself ;)

Thanks, I did not think that a shuttle was that cheep. I think I will move it myself. I really only wanted one of the ships anyway.
Thanks again, there sure is alot to learn in this game.

You can also undock in a pod. It helps if there are no shuttles for sale in station. Right click on a ship you are in (when docked) and choose leave ship.
