As the title says, how does a corp leave an alliance or is that restricted to the role of CEO only ?

Any director can do it. Open the corp screen, and go to the alliance tab. Then go to the members tab, and right click your corp and select 'Quit alliance'.

what I find strange is it takes a ceo to join an alliance but any director can quit out of it. I have yet to hear of anyrouge director actually quiting an allaince though.
