Exactly how is going from a semi fun mission to a pure jamming fest productive for the need for speed concept.
You made it harder I applaude that its fun. But faceing 20 jamming NPC ships at once is more then any ECCM can handle.
I am aquireing Target lock fireing at most 1.5 volleys and waiting 2 to 3 ECM cycles before I can retry to aquire target lock. Then the said process I mentioned above starts over.
This mission has way to much ECM in its present form. Im not competeing against the DPS my tank can hold it all day. Unfortunitly for me since the changes and the massive ammount of ECM. I need to hold it all day for the lack of my own DPS.
What gives anyone else faceing this same issue with the New level 4 The Assault mission?

I trust the Sansha mission is different? I ran it this morning in my Abaddon (and they tracking disrupt, so it's a pain still) but I only had to fight one spawn of ships at a time. I don't think there were ever more than 6-7 ships on me at a time, and not many of them were tracking disrupting. I killed the TDs first, then moved on to the other ships.

CCP did really f*** up level 4 missions in the last patch. I can't suggest anything other than maybe bring a friend with alot of raw dps. I used an alt in a cap-injected dual-rep Abaddon to tank the Serpentis one, where my initial 80km locking range got damped down to 6km ffs, with an 8 minute locking time on another BS...
And my main comes in in a Megathron or Rattler and kills everything, but it's still not right. Needs fixing.

Edited by: Taloic on 22/04/2007 02:43:03 Yea I was running through the Gurista one they Jam instead of TD.
Dread Pith Eagles and Pith Ravens jamming to heck and back. If I hadnt CTD'd and lost 5 Vespa 2's I would have been laughing about it.
There were a few Warp ins so to anyone running the Gurista mish there will be 4 lesser ravens or scorp BS's kill those leave the tougher Mauraders and such for last they trigger warp ins on both stages. I found out the hard way and had to knock out up to 10 Bs's at once. Thank god for 7 Siege launchers!
You would think 22 mil+ Sp's a CNR and full Tech2 mods a mission wouldnt give you trouble. Of course ya never expected to be Perma jammed in a mission lol.

I still don't understand the problems people have with that mission. Pehraps it's something unique to ravens?
I've soloed it several times with my t2 Drake, and while the jamming is quite bad at times the mission was no real problem.

I like this mission ran it in my Mega. Guns were pretty much useless untill I got rid of a few jamming ships. Took a few seconds to work out how to complete but it made a change from warp in blast away and warp out.
You dont need to lock for a long time, just long anough to get your drones on a jamming ship and let them do their job. Then it makes no difference if you lose your lock the drones keep going untill the ship is dead. Rinse and repeat easy.

: edited ok I spent a grand total of 40 mins jammed while running the mission after I started the stop watch.
First stage is easy enough.
2nd stage when you warp in, target the closest Dire cruiser - usually a nullifier, may be a Killer or mortifier.
Kill it. You'll aggress 2 other dires, about 4 or 5 battleships and assorted frigs.
Then you aggress the rest. Don't kill the Destroyers, doing so will bring in the next wave.
I'm a corp thief. And remember, I only do it because I like your robot.
Nice Isk. I'll take it. |

Just for the record , it is not always the Destroyer that is the trigger for the next spawn. I was not hitting the Destroyer for that reason, and hit a Conquistador, which turned out to be the trigger.
So, do not put money on the Destroyer being the trigger every time.

i did the gurista assault now twice within one day. and didn't have much problem with jamming. maybe once or twice on the first stage and a few more on the second. the only jamming "problem" is the respawn of the second stage. has 4 jamming hacs. but if you don't trigger it before killing the rest and send your drones on these hacs, it's no problem
btw, i really like it how there are only so few frigs left, but lots of bs :)

Having a similar issue with the serp one. I had to abandon my Absolution for a Dominix and hope I could fling the drones at a damping ship before I lost lock. ----------------

Flying a Nightmare, this mission finally made me train up FoFs. It's doable but certainly tedious.

I was doing this one last night. The Serpentis version in Minmatar space.
I also couldn't get a viable lock for very long without getting sensor dampened to less that 15k range.
My solution was to come in with a blaster fitted AB burning HAC and take out the frigs and cruisers first, up close and personal. ( I couldn't tell WHO was doing all the jamming, so I just killed all but the battelships, which didn't seem to be jamming ;-)
Then I came back in a battleship to finish off the rest.
It was, ehem, rather tedious to do it this way, but it works.
