A small forsaken empire recon force (2 cruiser, 2 frigates and 1 mad indy-pilot) was able to pass the NVA "defences" and found 25 huge secure containers full of rare ore.
1 of our cruisers didnt make it back home from this desperate raid. But he was able to draw the NVA-ships away from our indy and destroyed severall NVA-ships. The indy was able to haul all ore through NVA territory.
The operation called "0.0-ninja-ore-thiefing" was succesfull. The containers had no password. Large NVA forces were sent out to stop the ninja-ore-thiefs, but the ore was hauled to a close base in Venal and has been refined.
Thx to the NVA ninja miners - good work

Wow, Kudos to you guys. NVA must think no one goes in to their territories to use unsecured containers.
Tell me where they are at and I will hit them up too. Or maybe make a diversion so others can hit their other spots...lol

Oh Darth Solo 
Don¦t get this angry...this was a nice act of piracy - like the game should be. But there is something to learn for everybody in this game: one of the biggest alliances wasn¦t able to defend their territory against 5 lousy recon vessels. This means the game is still not balanced. Blockades dont work, bookmarks (this time we used them ) are much too powerfull.
It should be impossible to haul tons of ore in enemy territory - it¦s not!

No no, don't get me wrong, i think its very impressive monsieur. It ranks right up there with Cao Cao's famous "ya-boo ya-can't catch me, I pwned you all with mwd NVA noobs" post.
I can see why a neutral bystander might find it a bit of a climb down from the early expressed war aims though.
At one time Foresaken Empire wanted 1billion a week weregild to spare us from being "utterly crushed" ... now they are content with a little ore stealing.
Its quite charming really ;)

Officially ... the NVA are the FE mining dont even try it .......
We enter Venal because we can ...
We only send frigates and cruisers because we know "as proven" you can't stop them.
It leaves our battleships to deal with other irritations.

Well done on this  i mean i flew up to venal just after it happened and seriously between PB and venal i saw one pilot and that was a tundragon guy who i think was still hiding at his safespot same place he was about 4 hours before. Only tankuk and later a few other where there to stop you and that was after your indy had got away. i think you guys had 5 crusiers vs tanks apoc and 3 of you logged 1 was podded and the other 1 was at a safe spot man you guys rock lol

Hi,
As the legal representive of the Forsaken Alliance, I'd like to say that the cans in question were not passworded and were in 0.0 space, so taking from them was in no way a crime.
My clients, in all their innocence, approached the cans, waited 10 seconds for any owner to show up, looked for name tags on the containers, and due to some problems in the Concord network they failed to ID tag the containers by tracking their owner. Again in total good faith they took the ore to a nearby station and refined it, and waited a whole 10 more seconds for it to be claimed by the rightful owner. According to the FE constitution, after that given period all found material belongs to the finder, so they had no choice but to keep it (Yes it is a crime to give stuff back to people according to pirate law).
So now that we've covered our ass in the legal front, we can continue the flamefest.

Heh, reminds me of the times people had talked about having scenario's like this in the game, which at the time, I thought to be a very good idea.
About having some of kind salvaging operations in deep space as a part of the gameplay. Whether it was the salvage of ship wrecks or what have you, kind of like RL deep sea salvaging.
Maybe set-up as part of the agent missions system or something. Or, even have that set-up in the agent mission style but with various decriptions of the mission and totally different kind of mission "agents" or employers not necessarily agents, for example, an independent interstellar shipping company has a contract to locate one of their "long lost" missing vessels, I dunno.
This just reminded me of that talk, but, anyways, yeah that was a nice job on that "ninja ore thief" guys.

Yes, it had been a very boring trip for myself and Fabbian Locke (HUFF) into northern Venal. We had been following a hauler for quiet some time but out cruisers were fitted for combat not speed. In our journey that took us 1 hour we saw no NVA defenses at all, only in local.
When we found the hauler had gone to a system with 6 other people in it we celebrated that we would get a couple kills. But soon realized that they all where hidding at a safepoint .
So we warp around a lil bit trying to find them and low and behold at one of there planets was 21 secured cans. Well at first we set out to destroy them .. but you cant do that. Then in local (as Viceroy said) we announced that we had found NVA cans and they had 10 seconds to claim them. After a few rude responses we took a second look at the cans. NO PASSWORDS!!!! At about this time Lifewire had signed on and he took the looting operations from there.
I just have one question. How can you call yourself New Venal Alliance , if your never in Venal?

A frigate (recon) should be able to break through a blockade, a cruiser should be able to do it with much luck, but a indy shoulnd be able to do it and a indy shoulndt be able to do it 20 x!!! This game is still a joke from a millitairy view!!! Instant-jump-bookmarks make this game boring. I can feel with Tankuk standing there to block us with his powerfull BS. He could do nothing, just watch how the ore is stolen piece for piece. Tankuk now knows how pirates feel when bookmarkers jump through their blockades. Tankuk and his 7 BS-friends now know: they have wasted their time, it was boring, playing tetris is more action. They deserve to see things like we saw them 1000 times!

darth... yes, it's still nearly impossible to make someone fight you against his own will, especially if you are hunting experienced pirates who have learnt from their own victims.
But back to the days in Aurohunen... I have been sitting alone at the gate, not really with the best config for a battleship 1 vs 1 and I still attacked every battleship hoping that he would fight me. Some of them did, most didn't. But having 3 battleships at the gate nobody would ever attack you unless he got friends with him.
The point is that a fleet will never get a chance to fight a single man unless he decides to attack.
And well smacktalk... I'm not sure but I guess it's caused by too much adrenaline in a too young brain

I attacked one Scorp in my cruiser. Another two battleships and a cruiser came for backup (even that he seemed not to had called for backup, he was leaving NVA anyways).
So there were two Scorps, one Armageddon and one Caracal. I attacked them several times, got the Caracal to about half armor till all but one Scorp and the Arma jumped.
I kept attacking till the Scorp had almost no shields, then both of them jumped.
No that has nothing to do with my fantasy, I guess it has something to do with the ability to use a cruiser's full potential. And like I said before... it was distraction for my buddies up in Venal.
PS: Toulak... you could not get me down in your battleship, so I doubt you would make it in an Ibis . It was a nice fight... well actually just a waste of missles on both sides. |

It was a nice fight, but doesn't make any sense to repeat it unless it's not 1vs1 again, missles are just too expensive.

Well technically it was 2vs1 against me, Lifewire was in his BB jamming me, but my FoFs soon sorted that out

Ahem. Now that my forum ban is lifted..
Jade & Co.: yes my foot is in my mouth about being "caught." But to suggest that you guys have equalled the damage we've done to you is laughable. I lost 2 blackbirds, 1 iteron mk3, a few useless tech 2 building materials, and 2 clones. The implant and several skill books I've acquired doing the missions, not to mention the very nice 100k / 100k rewards.
Essentially over two days of dodging and weaving you little girls in 1.0 space I broke even. So give it a rest. Just tonight you guys lost at least 7 battleships to our 1.
And it was a lot of fun. Can't be a pirate if you don't expect to lose clones and ships.

Boy, this is a stupid thread.
Sigh. For the record I can tell clear up a few misconceptions, since I was there and was one of only 2 noob alts NVA podded.
1. There were 2 parallel mining operations going on. I have no idea whose cans they found, but they were 1 NVA corp, not NVA property. My corp was also mining at that time and made a decent profit with no thefts.
2. Most of the NVA is in empire doing agent missions. Don't blame us, blame Castor. And hey, so quite frankly are most of the higher-skilled FE. Most of those remaining in Venal were mining or hauling, and since Venal was so quiet most of the indys travelling were AFK. There was no blockade or security to speak of in Venal at the time, since quite frankly Gurristas make normal mining and NPC farming unacceptably unpleasant. The sneak force got into Venal easy at that time, and that is no surprise.
3. IMHO the ore could have all been stolen easily without anyone noticing. We were "tipped off" only when some Tundragon pilot in a Rifter (named Raven somebody) tried (twice!) to destroy an AFK Oberon bestower, and somehow failed to do so. I am still in awe of that, it must have been a very low-skill alt.
4. Once an Oberon pilot near PF checked his indy and noticed lots of armour damage, but NOT a dead ship, we assumed we had a lone raiding frigate. So 1 frigate was dispatched to PF, and she (Smokist) wasted the rifter with one missile salvo. Just as well, since the pilot was doing a little better job with the 2nd Bestower and might, with enough time, have actually done hull damage.
5. The quest for the pod of said rifter pilot was kind of fun, so a total of 3 frigates, 2 of them alts and 1 of them a real Oberon pilot chased him around for awhile. Podding is almost impossible now, incidently. The lock time is just too long if the guy is already in the pod (as opposed to torp splash).
6. Exodo- showed up at this time, which was a surprise. He caught Venkman's Kestrel and my unarmed Inquisitor (I'm a noob alt, I was just helping to scout the tundragon pod) at a gate. I got podded (cost my main 8K Isk to replace my clone ) and Venkman didn't. Exo then talked some trash in local, so Smokist decided to rush him Kestrel vs. his cruiser. She's got something of an anger management problem. So she got killed and podded too. Again, frigate alt, although she's got more skill points so I think her new clone cost her main 250K or so Isk. Exo kept talking trash so most just blocked him and got their mains sorted to take him out.
7. NVA heard about the Caracal, and a bunch came up and killed Exo.
8. Dunno what happend in between, but still at this point no one knew about the Huff Badger II pilotted by "Pffft".
9. Smokist in a fresh Kestrel went out later to pod/noob ship hunt the various FE types still hanging about in PF. She ran into the Badger II and chased it off. After about 20-40 minutes of fruitless attempts to get out of Venal, all 3 FE pilots in PF insta-docked in the station and logged.
10. Later bragging by FE indicated that someone have left unattended cans of ore that Pffft had been stealing from. Their claims at that time was about 40 mil worth although who really knows?
11. I went to bed.
So 2 comments: Economically, these FE pilots did well. Some NVA corp lost some isk. But it's hardly an economic loss to the whole NVA cuz we don't have an economic system that shares isk/minerals in most cases. Like all of eve corps/individuals pay their own way.

Militarily, it should never have been. That silly Rifter pilot disrupted their well-organized sneak operation. Final score was 2 Kestrels, 1 Iquisitor lost by NVA, 1 Rifter, 1 Caracal and a pile of noob ships :roll: lost by FE. Economic victory yes, but bragging about ships destroyed by Exo is pretty laughable. 2 Kestrels and an unarmed Iquisitor... Yeah, can't wait to hear more of the adventures of this guy.

this thread is not about the destruction of the whole NVA fleet and nobody claimed Venal on it either.
It's a small post (Lifewire) about how we have stolen ore from NVA (we don't care about your alliance politics, the owner of the cans was member of NVA, so it's NVA ore for us).

Some minutes later 5 KIA members appeared in the system. Then some other NVA members joined you.

ok heres the story on the fight
they did knock out a riffter and where chasing his pod when i jumped in and said come to the gate for a real fight and bingo 1 did so 1 volly l8r no more ship the pod escaped - then i said arent the rest gona join in bingo 2 more turn up let of some missiles so i locked 1 and let of a volly bang no ship no pod then i moved to the next hey hes still here thats stupied so i let of a voly at him bang no ship no pod - i lost my caracal because i wasent looking at my damage after jumping into a belt full of rats and got knoced out by a sole gate camper after mt team manged to go aorung tankuk who was camping the gate in a raven
