Sorry to ask, I dare say someone else already has,but how do you activate a warp core stabilizer,do you have to manually activate it with a click of the mouse,or does it self activate when you become scrambled ?
I understand the principle of the no.of points being + for the scrambler and - with the stabilizer, so who ever has the most wins. I am just not a 100% sure how to activate them or even how to tell when they are activated,or whether there is a range limit on them etc. regards and thanks, Slartibartfast1 |

You dont need to activate it. Once fitted, it just works.

no range limit, no activation needed, just fit and leave them. remember you must have more warp strength than there are points against you. if they are the same then you lose.
Oh and if you fit any of these on a combat ship then i will hunt you down

In the case of a tie, the WCS wins. Not the scrambler. Which means these days you can get away with 1 WCS most times.

meaning if you have 3 stabs it is unlikely for 2 ganking pirates to bot have +2 and so you win EVE !!

As far as my understanding goes, each ship has 1 point of warp strength and 1 point needed to scramble that point. adding a wcs gives you 1 extra strength making you get away. same with transport ships, they have a natural 1 point and +2 from ship bonus making you have 3 points of warp strength and the same 3 needed to stop you warping if you're not using any stabs. that's where i was coming from.

If a ship had 1 point naturally you'd need a 2 point scram to stop it running away... Dark Flare - Corpus PCG |

If look at DarkElf's original post, you'll see that by his way of thinking about it, being even means you get scrambled, so a 1 point scram will do.
