Yo... I been wondering. I know what a tackler is, it's someone in a small ship equipped with warp scramblers right. Well I suppose I could get the cheapest frig that can equip it, train the skills required for scrambling, and put a scrambler on.
But that just sounds a bit dumb, since I heard so many tales about how you actually need good skills in order to make a ship really good. Not just the bare minimal skills required to make it fly.
So I was wondering, for each race, what is a good tackler ship, and which additional skills would you focus on to make it something more than the bare minimalistic tackler setup? I was thinking of stuff like going as fast as possible aye?

Rifter is cheap and effective. After you get good in a rifter the Stilletto is by far probablly the best tackler in game in my opinion.

1. Stilleto 2. Navigation skills 3. Warp scram skill
Best tackler you ever did see.

You want mwd, scram, enough cap to keep em running forever - preferably from outside web range, and going as fast as possible. For added bonus, find some way to deal with being nossed as well. Being able to lock really fast is also nice.

The cheap tackler I am using atm is a slasher with MWD/AB, 20km scram in mids and a CPR in the low. I fit the biggest artillery cannon I can as well to tickle them whilst I orbit at 14km.
Costs next to nothing and is getting me ready for flying a stiletto.
I used to use rifters, but tacklers die a lot whatever happens and a slasher is even cheaper (and faster)

The very best frigate tackler is a stiletto. Sensor boost it and nothing will ever escape.
Another great pure tackler is a merlin, again, sensor booster or with a shield extender, depends on what you want.
...who of course promptly went bat****, flipped out and killed some people. |
