Ye, all games got bots and stuff like that messing up things one way or another. soooooo..
how come the game owners dosent sell isk themself? I mean, CCP have the Buy timecards for isk in my account. sure this is player to player, ccp only have the function to do it now...
But this is an idea to use, but insted of player to player. ccp to player.
Ccp created the game. so if anyone is to buy isk. why not from ccp directly? just add the codes in "my account" and earn some real life cash for a product ya made ccp.
that just my thougts.

Because that would be magicing isk into existance whereas if I buy GTC with my isk it's just a transaction that moves my isk to anothers wallet.

OK, lets say CCP is to sell ISK. now, how should CCP get their hands on the ISK in the first place. I know it sounds strange that the game company behind EVE to have problems getting their hands on their own currency, but you know, if a government bank in a RL country too started to produce money to pay their own depts, there would soon be inflation. A real ugly and nasty one!! And so would it be in EVE.
That means CCP have to get their hands on some ISK already ingame, which means a.)hiring people to earn ISK they can sell... b.) or selling confiscated ISK bought by players from competing sellers
By the way, by starting to sell ISK for real life cash, we would might have a tax problem too.
All in all, i think the GTC solution is the only viable option as it is.

Edited by: Garia666 on 23/04/2007 07:33:52 I think i can awnser this question.
What CCP doenst want is to much ISK ingame. what there is already. So if they give out ISK which isnt ingame that will be a problem to the game.
The thing with time cards is is that its an replacment of isk. its already ingame but it only switch owners...
and there for things happen how they are now..

Edited by: Amerus on 23/04/2007 08:35:16 ok ya got some quite good points to why not.
forgot about inflation and all that enomic crap :)
but at the same time if ya understand my point of view, with the isk sellers, that way its better if the game owners has it themself.
god i hate complicated stuff.

No. If people could buy isk from CCP, it would lead to inflation. Meaning the isk that I earn with in-game effort would drop in value, if billions of isk would enter the game that have been bought from CCP. Rather make a new server for the rich and lazy, where they can buy everything for $$. There they could compete with people of their own kind and wouldn't spoil the fun for normal gamers, who believe that ingame effort should be rewarded.
In short: If CCP starts selling isk for dollars, then I cancel all accounts. ___________ Muuuhhh !!! |

If you buy isk, you might as well hire someone to play the game for you too. Making money is the whole point of eve to one extent or another, without that driving force, no targets for pirates, no need to manafacture on a large scale (since you wouldn't be looking for proffit)...
I could go on, but i'm bored of this argument, if you want to buy isk go to a third party site, and then post about it here, so CCp can hit you over the head with a big, orange banhammer! .............................................................................................. We have players that are houres a day online and other who just cant be that often online. We have some T2 BPO Owners, Complex Farming Corporations in 0.0, ......
We dont have and never will have a equal playerbase.
So where is the diffrence when the billions comes from a Corp. who does Complex Farming in low sec?
There is no difference, ISK are ISK. The only thing that produces a problem is when its just too much.
So i hope that CCP shuts down static complexes and never sells ISK in game, but at the other hand - what is with the players who just dont have that much time to earn the billions for expensive ships?

Ignoring the fact that with GTC sales, someone in-game is working to make the money instead of it just being produced from thin air...
If you allow players to buy ISK direct from CCP, then nobody buys GTC cards and sells them for ISK anymore, because it's not as convenient. Then you have the players that generate enough ISK to cover their play time with GTC's no longer being able to purchase them, because the few that are for sale now cost 10x as much ISK. You'd be chopping out a chunk of the player base.
