I've been playing for a while and noticed that I am getting very high standings with the Gallente NPC corps, but an losing standings with the "evil" NPC corps like Serpentis.
Is there any way to counteract this? Is it possible to have good standings with all NPC corps?

Do a dozen missions for one corp, then move onto the one you're losing standings with. Stick to courier missions so you don't lose standings for killing ships.
However, this is a lot of work, keeps you away from the profitable higher level missions for much longer, and doesn't really have worthwhile benefits.

Agreed, possible with a lot of effort but counter-productive.
Given that standings are mainly to:
a) get you access to better agents b) reduce the percentage corps take when you refine stuff c) give you access to jump clones
I'd advise you to pick a faction and stick with it (or it and it's allies).
I run almost entirely Amarr missions. The fact the Minmatar and Gallente navies jump me if I enter their space just adds to the fun
Still, each to their own - if you want positive standings with every faction in EVE go for it and have fun.

Ok, so it is possible to have positive standings with everyone. Just not really worthwhile.
Thanks for the help.

Also, blowing up their ships makes them angry. Doing missions for non-pirate factions usually gets you attacking pirate factions. Also, if you want to do missions for those pirate factions to improve your standing, you need to go out to 0.0, where I'm sure the locals would love to get intimately acquainted with you're ship's wreck.

Despite all of the serp NPC's I shot when my old mining corp was in Gallente space, I have bad standings with the Gallente...due to running missions for Caladari corps when I get to blow up those Republic pigdogs.
:)
But my standings with the serps are not too shabby.
it gives me amusement.
I have heard that missioning for Sisters of EVE is a good way to keep a balanced standing with most factions....but I haven't tried any.

I heard Sisters of EVE give standings to all factions in game. Also you gain standings faster than you are loosing them so the best way would be to make two jumpclones - in Caldari and in Gallente space - do few days of lvl4 missions and switch to opposite faction.
You can also train some skills to boost your standings.

Hey Ithoriel, how is it to have the navies attacking you?
My standing with caldari begins to be bad, and i wondered if it was worth it to keep it within the reasonnable -2 or let it drop down? Is it possible to sneak past them in a cruiser (not blowing them in a battleship), are they really hard? Reinforcements?
If you don't want to loose too much standing with some factions, refuse the missions where you need to shoot the ones you want to keep good standing with. I tend to refuse some gallente missions because it's shooting caldari, amarr, mordus legion and some others (that have positive standing to concord, I made my choice here to define the ones I want to keep in good standing). -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! Flying Vexor and Ishkur, Myrmidon was too slow, got ganked by 3 BC and a Megathron... |

Does Sisters of EVE give positive standings to the "evil" NPC factions... and everyone else? That's pretty cool if they do.

I am confused, because when I was visiting one of their stations (in Minmatar space) and looked up their liked/disliked info, I thought it said that the Minmatar and Gallente liked them, but the Amarr and the Caldari disliked them (although less strongly than the G & M liked)? ----- We are all stardust... some more often than others |

I just got home from work and checked Sisters of EVE, they are not liked by the evil corps at all, so I guess they won't boost any standings with them.
I think the best I can hope for is to have positive standings with all four races, rather than all factions.
