If the menu options fixed all the camera sloppiness then there wouldnt be complaints about it. They dont. The camera often makes arced movement from target to target, it sticks on own ship like its got gum on it (when dynamic camera is enabled.) It would be nice to use if it wasnt so sloppily implemented. If the majority of the users need to change "options" to make something usable then they arent "options". The concept is good and potential for the camera is there but its poorly done and that is a problem whether there are "options" to make it usable or not.

Custom tracking position needs to be reinstated. Plain and simple; it's the single most asked for thing related to the new camera and, while it's not the only gripe I hear constantly, it's probably the biggest one and would go a long way to making the camera more bearable. The other is how the camera slides forward of the ship with DCM enabled. I honestly cannot for the life of me see why anyone thought that was a good idea to implement or what purpose it serves unless it was meant purely to encourage disabling Dynamic Camera Movement, which makes even less sense.
The tracking camera button on the Selected Item box could use a looking at too as it fails to properly activate/deactivate the tracking camera more often than it working correctly.

For me...custom tracking position. Clicking on a target in the overview and having the camera smoothly spin around to a point on screen that I select, not snap around sharply to center screen, blocked by my ship like it is currently.

I'd love a third-person fixed view behind my ship.
I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

That's actually in, just cannot remember how to get it to fire. It's got a hotkey bound to it by default if I'm not mistaken.
