For those who don't know, the Hubble Space Telescope just celebrated its 17th, and they've released this utterly amazing new picture. I won't do it any justice by describe it, so just click:

That is very cool. Any idea if there's a high-res version for us on desktops anywhere?

Yeah they've provided a ton of ridiculously high resolution versions, some of which aren't working right now (probably because everyone's downloading them).

Try this (2,636 KB)
They offer a 203 MB and 513 MB version if you want to do some printing or scientific work with it.

Hubble is 17, man I'm getting old...
And I'm willing to bet at least some money (say 5 quid) that the image is false colour, still it is very very pretty.

Originally by: Hubble site The Hubble images were taken in the light of ionized hydrogen. Colour information was added with data taken at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory in Chile. Red corresponds to sulfur, green to hydrogen, and blue to oxygen emission.
Yeah hardly any are true colour, but then, who cares; they look better in false

Holy...you're right. And just a couple of light years to the right of the punisher is what appears to be an Avatar. Seems like the Amarr Navy is gate camping the Carina Nebula. --
